Title: osage bow
Post by: David_Daugherty on June 02, 2013, 10:43:03 pm
Osage bow I just completed for a friend of mine.  Its 65" nock to nock, 55 lbs at 29", 7" brace, grip is made of elk skin, beaver silencers.

Stickman, the handle is 4" with 2" fades, width is 1 1/4".  His draw length is 30"!! So I had to make sure the fades and handle could withstand the length of his draw.

The full draw picture looks beautiful. What does the bow look like unbraced?

Love the lines on that one. That nock shape is also my favorite for selfbows. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for all the comments everyone. Its nice to get feedback from fellow bowyers.  Rps3- I didn't get a picture of it unbraced before I let it go.  Wish I had now  :-[.  And yes its a vet good shooting bow and extremely quiet.  I like to sand down the outter edges of the fades and round them off to minimize the arrow/fletching noise when its shot.  Makes for a very quiet hunting bow.  That's the fist thin people have noticed when its shot-how quiet it is.  Also wish I had better pictures of the grip and arrow rest.  That elk skin is very nice and is extremely comfy in the hand.  Again thanks for the comments its greatly appreciated!!  :)
