The historical society I belong to (Society for Creative Anachronism) had an archery specific event this weekend and it was a blast. We had some fun shoots and fun company, the clout shoot being the most fun. Someone managed to grab this great photo of me (I'm in the red).

This was Trimaris Archery Day, held at Camp Soule in Tampa once a year. The SCA is an international organization that has events all the time and archery is usually happening at these events along with armored combat and fencing etc. this was just an archery specific event for our kingdom. If any of you are interested in getting involved in this kind of historic archery stuff be sure to check out sca.org and look for your local kingdom and check the calendar of events, you don't have to be a member to come and shoot and contact your local group and they will usually be very happy to get you some loaner garb to wear etc. I mean, who can argue with a weekend of camping, archery, funny clothes and many a mead and brew around the campfire!

Post these events for us guys down here. Do you know Martha Varney,a little Elf longbow shooter?

You mean Baroness Mar of Unst? Yeah, I know her to say Hi, I see her on the archery field all the time. The next event I will be at is Cutlasses and Corsairs, Feb 10-12 at Camp Immokalee in Keystone Heights, that will be my local Barony's archery champion tourney.

Martha and I usually end up shooting together in the TBOF shoots. the Charity shoot is this Saturday in Ocala at at the Zip Line place off the interstate. A fun shoot laid out in an old limerock quarry.
