Since there is an interest in making potery here on PA.
I thought I would try this thread sort of in conjunction
with one on rocks etc. Some pottery I have collected
from the river banks.

love seeing that pottery. lot of education and skill goes into reliable pottery. I haven't found a way to kill a deer with a pot yet, so I can't bring myself to dedicate to truly learning it (I just dabble)

I've got lots of pottery shards. There was so much where we used to hunt artifacts in Beaufort Co. S.C. we collected it to get it out of the way. There are many different decorative patterns like cord marks, etc. I have a few rim pieces but none can be put together.
I also have a complete pot about the size of a softball. My aunt gave it to me after seeing our artifact collection. She got it from her boyfriend in high school, probably in the 1920's. I think she said it came from the Natchez(sp) River in Texas, possibly Caddo.
My computer is screwed up so I can't post pics now. I hope to get a new one soon and I'll post them then.

Yeah it takes a little dedication Ryan but you would like it.
Great Pat, look foward to seeing your pottery.
This one comes from up-state NY central lower tier.

Welcome Rog,
This is so flat and thin (not to pretty) but must have been huge.
