Finally I am able to post some fics of my first bow that i made. It is a selfbow of hickory, its 72 inches long. It is 17/8 wide to mide limb tapering to 1/2 inch nocks. It pull 56 pounds at 30 inches And follows the string by about 1 1/2 inches. Like I stated before I think after breaking it in the bottom limb started bending a little more than the top. But I just left it alone and learned from the experience.

Danny,That's a classic looking bow.The tiller doesn't look bad to me,anyway,Hickory changes with the weather.

Looks very nice to me. I think you did a splendid job with that bow!
-
A classically beautiful bow. Well done.
-
Well done ;D My first one took about twice that much set and is full of compression fractures. If you can stand to loose a pound or two, you could always give that upper limb a few more scrapes. I often have to come back and touch up the tiller on mine after shooting them in. Of course if it shoots good, your sometimes better off to leave well enough alone.

Great job! Thats a good looking bow.

Nothing to be ashamed of for a first bow you outdid most folks. My first bow came in at about 10# and
had more hinges than a door ;D Very well done.

A first bow? Looks like a veteran did it. Great job. Now, get to work on the next one! :)
-
Looks to me like you did an excellent job, especially for your first one. My first bow became an involuntary takedown :)
