What ratio do you use to mix hide glue for using on sinew and wraping arrows? Also what do you use to heat it up?
-
I chew sinew for wraps. It only takes a minute to get it soft and your saliva and the sinew make their own glue so no extra glue is needed. Once wrapped and dried just seal it and you are good to go.

I do like Pat,I use to soak it in water but that takes longer and isn't nearly as good, chewing it is one
of the best tricks I have learned over the years. :)

The only bad thing about chewing the sinew is Sometimes it gets tobacco juice all over it. ;D Chewing does work the best.
-
I do the same as you all accept I put just a bit of knox in my mouth with it..
-
I'm a sinew chewer, too. It has plenty enough glue in it to stick itself down and together. After it dries you can put anything you want on it to make it more waterproof. TB3 will keep it from getting wet, as will a thin pine pitch mixture.

Ya Nugget I have that problem,it just gives it some color and texture. ;) ;D

Yea nugget, i find wolf finecut natural gives the best color, Kinda like a natural patina. But you can use apple flavor for a natural sent attractant ;D
-
I prefer the Red Seal fine cut natural "patina" myself. ;D

and my wife thinks i am nasty when i chew sinew
-
Never knew how Nasty I was till I lost one Tooth and part of My Jawbone to Copenhagen....now I look at People Dipping and pray that they get Smart before what I went through...as for chewing Sinew....after a while....it gets to be like chewing Gum.....tastes good for a lot longer too........ ;D
