You're right, won't work. What is it? A Mary Rose bow on the tiller? (But they're closer to 500 years old).

For those who can't see the content, It's a programme that looks back to the recovery of the MR and its finds. One segment sees Robert Hardy in the early eighties (making the bows at the time approximately 430 odd years old) testing an actual MR bow to destruction and later an interesting comment by the presenter Dan Snow, regarding the relative strength of the strings governing the draw weight of the bows.

Hello,
the programme is great but the video quality in youtube is quite crappy, if you want to see the video directly from the bbc you can use a plugin or addon for your web browser if it is firefox or chrome (and safary if i remember well). This addon is called hola and with it you can choose the country from you are seeing the video so you can see it as you were in the uk. http://hola.org/ (http://hola.org/)
