Title: gonna build one soon
Post by: sleek on June 05, 2015, 12:05:09 am
So I now have a set of elk and a set of bison. I wonder about combining them to make a bi composite bow, sinew of course on the back. Maybe run the bison as the belly on the inner third and switch to elk with a w splice for the joint between the two.... eh, im dreaming. Maybe not...

Aside from the above, if I make an all elk bow, would siyahs work to lengthen the bow? I dont see elk bows like that. Is it because that technology didnt exist here back then? I also dont see a wooden core used. Id guess you need one to splice in siyahs for glue surface area?

I may make the elk first then take the tines off the rack and splice those to the bison to try that for fun.
