I'll get the full draw pic tonite, I hope. Been a circus around home this week.
66" ntn, 51-52# at my draw length. The over lays and handle build up are ewe horn scraps from Chuck. The finish is one coat of shellac wiped on followed by 4 coats of Helmsman clear satin spray. Nothing fancy. Its a back up to my Baby when she breaks, and they all do someday, that's if you actually shoot them :)
-
Very classy work for a simple osage bow.
-
Not to shabby pearl
-
Very nice PD! It's nice to see bows from people we look to for advice. Gives us a level to shoot at. Do you have a sideways view of the handle?
-
Always good to have a back up or two or three....lol.Very nice bow Chris.Nice wiggle and highlights to it along with just what osage looks like.Good shooter.
-
Nice bow, Pearlie. I've got a similar one in the works.
-
Nice work, bro. The horn looks cool on the heel of the grip like that.
-
This is as close to what you want as I have, Don. I narrowed and thinned here and there after these were taken. But, you get the idea. Its not nearly as difficult to "make" as it looks. Rasp and grab, rasp and grab, shoot, shoot, rasp and grab, shoot. :)
-
Thanks for the comments, fellers. I haven't posted my bows in a while. Figured it was time to share a few pics.
-
nice one!i can tell by the brace it's dead on!
-
Thanks bushy. The upper comes off the handle with a lot more reflex than the lower. It makes the upper look weak and very positive at brace. But, it balances and shoots like a dream. And I've shot at least 200 arrows from it with no change in the profile.
-
It's a beauty, PD. You are very talented. Jawge
-
Classic pearl drums brace, looks like another smooth shooter
-
Looks like a shooter Pearl and that is one heck of a good looking piece of Osage!

Yea but I ain't say n a thing until I see that PD FD >:D
-
That's exactly what my ideal bow looks like, weight length, profile everything. Good job.
-
Very nice, especially for a "simple" bow.
Kyle

Ooooooo, that feathering of the grain... Ahhhhhhh! What a killer looking machine. Nicely done Pearl, nicely done! (-S
-
very nice, congrats,,,, (-S

Very nice indeed

I'm the same way big guy, just wood shaped like a bow until its bent like a bow. Its just a matter of getting a warm body around to snap a few pics. Hopefully tonite or tomorrow somebody will drift in.
-
Know what you mean Chris, without Kim I wouldn't be able to take FD's either. Kim surprised me when she said " it's his TP is why there's not a full draw pic. :) I told her she'd better be good because we'll be at Elm Hall soon, and You might get on her about all the "akerns" that were in KY last fall. HaHa :)
-
As great as wives are for taking FD pics, if you guys have smart phones you can do it yourself. :) Just open the camera app, switch it to "selfie mode," and set the timer. The only trick is getting it to stand up straight. ;)
-
I didn't notice the extra bit of reflex in the top until you pointed it out, cant wait to see the fulldraw. Smooth looking bow all around. I too just use the timer on my camera. My cheap tracphone even has a setting where I say cheese and it snaps a picture.
-
I like it and look forward to seeing it in a few weeks
-
Excellent work all around Chris. Like Clint said, very classy looking. That should last for years and years
-
The unstrung profile says it all Bud :OK ! Hope to see it in Person in the near future (=) - Bob.
-
Pretty piece of wood that looks like a bow Pearl. Really though love the profile and weight, should be a good shooter and backup bow. Waiting for the pdfd but I'm sure it's spot on. I'm still hoping to get a chance to sneak out to Elm Hall. It'll be fair week but I'm hoping we will be done with wheat harvest.

Bobert that little bit makes the top limb look more round at brace and draw. And about 1/8" more positive than a "normal" bow would.
-
Thanks again for the comments fella's. Always good to be judged by your peers. Makes all better at what we love.
Still no FD pic. I finally got my wife home from the hospital late last night, maybe I can con her into a 1 minute photo session tonite :)
-
When i was at marshall i should have given y'all the solo fd class. All it takes is a smartphone,a trashcan and a spring clamp😀
-
Jake is my usual photographer because he knows exactly what I want to see in the picture. But..........a cute little girl seems to have him totally preoccupied the last year or so. Hmmmm? I don't remember that at 18 years old?
-
Simple is good beautiful !!
-
Nice looking bow Chris.
-
Chris, I always love seeing your work, gives me a good example of what to aim for!
-
Here's the full Draw picture ;D ;D ;D

-
Yup, that's it :). Thanks my good friend.
-
And what's wrong with that?
-
Not the PD FD I was expecting
-
You'd have to see it un-braced to get the whole story behind it! :):):):):)
-
His tillering eye is a little rusty ;)
-
I think the top limb could bend a little more just off the fade ;D
-
Too late smart azz! Its signed, sealed and headed your way. You can thank me later :)
-
Simple and clean, great craftsmanship again Pearl. John
-
I'd recognize that full draw as a PD from a mile away
-
Better get another spare
Bjrogg

It's good to see one of your bows posted again. I agree with Steve - that bow is just right. Don't know about Clint's full draw pic ::)
-
Damn! love to see your simple work.. Awesome work my friend
-
Its a rainy, crappy day. But I got my wife to snap a few pics.
-
Now that's pulling that sucker back. Getting all you can out of the bow. Nice FD PD.
DBar
-
Sweeeeeeeeeet! Now when will that be arriving at my house? :)
-
Very nice! That's a real nice looking bow. That should serve you very well.
Kyle
-
beautiful bow, great work on that riser/fade areas..
-
Wow! now thats how ya get every inch out of a bow..
-
Just how I imagined it. Funny how much better it looks when your wife takes the picture than when Clint does. >:D Just like I thought pdfd is spot on.

Ps we finished wheat Friday night just before all this rain Saturday. Thank God. This is real good wheat sprouting weather for any still standing. It might work out for me to sneak out to Elm Hall for a day.
-
Very nice, PD. Jawge
-
Very nice bow Chris, I like that front profile character and the full draw looks just plain perfect to me.
-
Looks like your string is twisted up backwards in that full draw pic. Also it must be pretty loud to need string silencers that big, no big deal, it's still pretty.
-
Yep, it's pleasure to see your bows, Mr Chris.
-
Very nice looking draw shot Chris. At least your getting rain though.
-
Very nice bow Chris, looks like a shooter to me, mighty fancy grip you are putting on them now days. But we will have to agree to disagree on your statement that they all break someday if you shoot them, I have not found that to be true, yes of course some do and some may take some set but I have many that has been shot a lot for years that still hold together Just fine.
Pappy
-
Great work Chris, nice looking all around
-
Killer bow, man!
-
You keep working at it Pearly boy and you're gonna get to be pretty good at this one day... :P ;D
"Backup bow" he says and then shows off this sort of beauty! While I'm rockin a Krylon spray painted Zebco 220 from the yard sale last summer as my New rig, he'll show up sporting a G Loomis GLX with a Van Staal VS X-series, ...only to then tell me this is his backup rig.
:o :o :o
Great Job sir...
OneBow
-
Make that a Sage rod and now you're right on target, Eric!
-
Very nice pearl, as always
-
WOW Chris, just wow. :)If that Yew bow your building me turns out like this I will be blown away. Great Bow
-
Now that's a bow! Like it a lot! You should post more bows for our viewing pleasure ;D
-
Do you ever make anything ugly??
-
Reflex right out of the fade on one limb more so then the other is touchy to keep away from set.Nice job Chris.
-
Very nice buddy! I love the handle and the full draw is gorgious! That must have been a beauty of a stave!
Patrick
-
Thanks fellas, thank you very much.
That stave is just another quality stick from Clint. I have got ALOT of staves from him and only once I got bad one that he would have never seen coming, typical of Clint he replaced it with two.
-

The top limb did take a fuzz more set, maybe 1/2"? I couldn't stop it with the way the limb is. But, I'm okay with that and it shoots fine and feels even better.
-
Chris it's a beauty.
-
Real nice lines, Chris. Like that handle.
-
Alright Pearl you got me on this one. I love the slight twist in the handle . This will allow for lower brace height without wrist slap. You all know I like the cutout shelf! The shot in reflex- deflex is also a nice touch. That's a shooter. Nice backup bow. I may have to borrow it sometime! Arvin
