Thanks guys! It was a good challenge, but being my second one of this kind I had a good idea of how to handle it and it wasn’t too bad. The hardest part was balance. Video the draw really helps the last bit of tillering to o get the proper balance

JW - this one will be goi g to its new home this week, but I’ll still have its twin and will bring it to Mojam if you’ll be there.

Very nice bow, Kyle. That’s what I call a challenging stave!  Beautiful work!

Glis - here’s the process I use for nettle. It’s abundant here..

Harvest mature stalks
Strip leaves while green
Air dry for a couple of months
Pound with a stick to separate fibers
Work between fingers to separate pith
(The more you work it the better the result)
Reverse twist into cordage of desired diameter
Apply to handle or tips
Apply dye to darken if desired

It will take approximately 10-12 stalks 5+ feet tall to make enough cordage for a handle wrap. It only takes 2 or so for each tip wrap.

I'm sorry I missed seeing you, John. The last time was when Del came, wasn't it?  I don't blame you for not taking pics. The Classic can be pretty fulfilling and overwhelming.

I met Li last weekend at the Tennessee Classic. He goes through wood like a beaver on methamphetamines. When I left Sunday at noon I think he was on his 5th bow of the weekend!!! Li, it was really great to meet you...I had to come back and lurk through your posts to refresh my memory of some of those bows that you posted.

Somehow I missed this one! Whoaaaaaaaah! This is unbelievable, brother, just unbelievable!

Know that you were truly missed, but no one faults you for the choice you made. Let me add my condolences to the many you have received already.

Sorry I am not posting a pic or two. I hardly took any at all. Fair chance this was to be my last Classic and I felt it was important to be fully in the moment. I did take a short video clip and sent it to Del the Cat just to put a thistle in his litterbox.

my eyes go googly over mookite, especially when it is properly treated to a good knapping like this!
