Title: BLUE COLLAR BOW
Post by: Stoner on February 22, 2020, 02:30:35 pm
I was asked to share this bow with ya'll. Don't know if this is considered a self bow, but that's what I call it.

I built it with all things found / destroyed by equipment on job sites or used and abused in the shop. John

Stoner thanks for sharing that one here but you all need to see everything that went into this bow. John put this one on Leather Wall with a build along for it. A lot of really cool stuff in this one that people aren’t going to notice without some more info.

Really cool what you did with all that stuff from your job sites Stoner.

I don't normally like the style of this kind of bow, because of the glass recurve riser.

That being said this bow is awesome. I checked out leatherwall, like Brogg suggested. It shows how much dedication, persistence,  skills and problem solving you have. I really like how you think outside the box, both to solve problems and artistically, with the zipper. Funny and smart at the same time.

Well done.

Very cool!  That is a bow you can grow into, or change weights as needed! (SH) (lol)!  I will have check it out on Leather Wall, is there any specific pathway?

No glass on this bow, those are Carhartts glued on the limbs. Like stated above you have to read the whole build along over on Stickbow to get the full flavor of this build. It was a fantastic job.

Thanks guys for the feed back. It was a challenging build, hope it inspires someone to try something new to them.

Arvin,  3" bolt platform  + 28" working limb + 1" tips = 32" overall   Any questions PM me and we'll chat. John

Nice, how this came together! I made a three piece once, too. Used the same inserts for the screws, just mine were excentered, so string alignment was adjustable. Took them out of old furniture.
Great, when things get reused! Also the zipper is an cool idea! Would be even better, when it look alike the osage would be behind.
This are the kind of bows I love to see here, a lot of good ideas!
Congrats! B2W
