I’d like to get a couple of those whoop dee doos and steps out of there and thin it more...but it’s pretty good. Gets to the point where you’ve made enough points when I say to myself I’d rather break it and try to get it perfect than have a flawed point that’s pretty good.
Whatcha all think? Stop or keep going? :)

Steve, looks like ya still have lots of width, go for a few more passes, set them up and make them count. Just my .02 worth. Bob

I always hate that question. I’d probably do what I’m pretty sure you will. Either keep going till I like it or completely ruin it.
I’m working on a really stubborn one right now. It was a nicely colored and sharp spearhead about fifteen minutes ago. I’m afraid it’s look poorer every minute now.lol
Sometimes I put them down and come back to them later.

Yeah, I’m with you guys...why stop now. Yup Bob, abrade it nicely, get a clean entry point, sharpen my flaker and make them count.
Brian, putting them down and coming back to them seems to be my thing now! I may be the world’s slowest knapper at this point...it just might be possible!

I’ve got some that have been sitting for a couple years. Once and awhile when I’m feeling lucky I take a couple flacks off one of em.lol

Yup I’d say you can quit now. ;) :OK

I ain't much of a knapper, but if you can haft it and hunt with it legally - stop and haft! If not, go for perfect - you need more gravel for the fish bowl!? (lol). Looks good to me!

The last one reminds me of one of my pregnant guppy points but actually good. my grandpa watched me make it. dont know if he rememberes me making it as hes getting old but him asking me questions and just sitting with him was the best.
-
Does he have dementia, Russel? That will be a good memory for you as the years click off. I know my grandpa would have been wild to see the hobby as he was an avid outdoorsman all the way into his mid 80's and passed at 90. Plenty of outstanding memories fishing together.
-
I dont know, maybe. we don't talk about it alot but my grandparents have been wearing out. he has moments where he can't remember stuff. he got cheated out of a family heirloom gun during one of these periods by his "Friend." I really love my grandparents but one familys in GA and anothers in Utah and all my cousins and uncles live in GA or Utah so were not really as close as some other families so, I have to make the memories count when i do see them.
he was facinated by what i was doing and i hope ill be able to show him it again.
-
I hope so, too.
-
Most definitely get him to record his story for you and your future kids! Your cousins will also probably appreciate! Family history seems to be a lost art these days.

You haven't broken it yet....keep hitt'n it. That's my strategy. Paul
