How's everyone coming along with their arrows

Wel, I know where the box of shafts is, as well as the "arrow making" box! Getting started on the arrow is another challenge!
Hawkdancer
-
Got mine done but waiting to go to town to ship. :OK
-
I did get a point knapped a couple nights ago. I picked out a river cane shaft and straightened it. Wrapped both ends with sinew. Hopefully I can sneak a few hours to work on it this weekend. Busy with work, putting up sweet corn and apples on the side. I will get one done though and shipped before deadline.

Wrapping the Fletches down, and hope they line up correctly! Still have to do the marking, and maybe a zonker. May be able to ship Friday or Monday.

-
Guys I'm sorry I've been a little MIA on the website. Did not want to go on due to the fact of my phone telling me this is an unsecured website. Honestly I completely forgot I even signed up! I've talked to BJ and have it all worked out with him. I sent Ed a message. Have not gotten a reply just wanted to make sure you got it Ed. Please do not feel rushed considering it took me a month to get back to you with a shipping address. Sorry about that guys
-
We all know stuff happens, Paul. Thanks for the heads up and the follow up with your recipient. :OK
-
No problem Paul I know what you're talking about
-
No problem Paul. Sure hope you and Nina enjoyed your adventures. Lots of time. I’m not going anywhere.
Bjrogg
-
I have the same problem as Paul, i have to agree to the fact that this site is unsecure before I get in, hope the powers that be can straighten this out.... anywhooo, shippin mine out tomorrow.
-
I got Jakes arrow yesterday and it’s amazing. Simple blunt arrow with the head carved out as apart of the shaft. Well balanced. I will be shipping mine tomorrow
-
Glad you like it mafort. I try to follow the K.I.S.S. rule. ;)
-
Still have to put one more mark and the finish on mine, then it goes off to High Eagle, with appropriate hoops for customs!
Hawkdancer
-
I got a really nice arrow today from Robbie, (Trapper Rob). A cane arrow with field point, It looks good with my other Trade arrows. Thanks, Robbie.
-
Glad it made it Eddie
-
Well my arrow to Ed went out today. Should arrive on Tuesday sometime.
-
Ok, so did not get my arrow out last week but did get it out today, should be there Monday....
-
Got the arrow ready to wrap for shipping! Should be able to get it on the way tomorrow, if the "honey do list" doesn't get in the way!
Hawkdancer
-
I managed to dodge the "honey do" list and got the arrow off to High Eagle in BC, Canada! The rest is up to the postal systems and customs! Made the ship date! Now to start on the Christmas trade stuff!

Guys I have to apologize for being a little AWOL here. I procrastinated, and then life and the start of a new semester all online kinda jumped up and bit me--well, it's a lousy excuse, and I have already posted a PM to Jake for my tardiness, but I promised him I would make it good. I will have an arrow out to him soon.
-
I myself have been AWOL. Just this morning I finished my trade for Jeffp51.
A Full time job, The honey do list a Kitchen Remodel, sheep, chickens, dogs, getting hay in the list goes on and on . Now I just have to get to the Post Office.
Do have to say it's been a fun project making my trade arrows
Thanks Chuck
-
Got a very nice arrow from StixnStones, cane shaft, neatly smoothed and finished, obsidian point, and sinew wrapped barred turkey fletching! Seems to have taken a grand tour of Nebraska! As soon as I can get imgur reinstalled, I will post some pics. That one just might go hunting this year!
Hawkdancer
-
Glad it found its way to ya in one piece....
-
I dropped my arrow in the mail today. Ed
-
(lol)Hope ya didn't hurt it! >:D (lol). Couldn't resist! This has been a fun trade! Thanks, Rob!
Hawkdancer
-
Got a cool natural shoot arrow in the mail today. Turkey fletchings with sinew wrap. I believe it's obsidian, it's a little bird point. Thank you so much Ed sorry for the delay. I texted BJ the other day and while I did not get the arrow in the mail today I promise I'll get it in the mail Monday. First primitive archer trade I've been running late on .
-
Nice arrow Ed.
Paul It's no problem at all. I'm not going anywhere and I've been to busy to look at anything else but farming anyway.
Bjrogg
-
Just before I sent off my arrow to Trapper Rob, I snapped a few photos. I'm posting these because it seems that this site is not "photo friendly" for many who are uploading from your computers.
(The foreshaft is detachable.... in case you're wondering how I took the pictures of the fletching and the arrowhead at the same time) ;D
-
It's a reproduction of arrow #2 (figure 2) from Tufton Mason's book.
-
That's a good looking arrow, Patrick.
-
Thanks Eddie.
-
Great arrow, Patrick. :OK
-
Thanks for posting pics Patrick
-
Thanks Pat.
You're welcome Robbie.
-
Nice arrow! Have to try some of the fore shafts some time!
Hawkdancer
-
Received my arrow from Mullet a few weeks ago and finally got time to hop on the site today. Absolutely gorgeous and is currently residing in my quiver! Sent mine out today as well. I know that I'm cutting it close but I've just been so busy lately that today is the first chance I got to send it out. Hope you like it Pat!!
G-Monee >:D
-
Thanks, G. I'll let you know when it gets here. I'm sure I'll like it.
Please post a pic of the arrow you received.
AND everyone else, please post pics of the arrow(s) you received.
-
I got my Trade Arrow from Warpath. Two cool arrows with interesting heads plus 6 old growth tail tapered cedar shafts with 6 plastic nocks and 6 field points. Gonna make some nice arrows. Here's a few pics...

The man knows how to make some nice arrows. I'm glad I have two of them in my collection.
-
He sure does, Eddie. :OK
-
Yes G does know how to make arrows I have some & my kids have a few dozen of them
-
I finally got my arrow sent off today. I apologize again for being so slow. -- I just realized also I forgot to take a picture, so hopefully Jake will post one when he gets it.
Jeff
-
Got my trade arrow from Jeff yesterday. Its awesome and worth the wait. I believe its a shoot shaft with a stone point. I took some pics but have a new phone and the old app I used to reduce the pics isn't on here so I'm not sure how to get them on here. (Maybe I could text them to someone to post for me)
Also i hope jeff could chime in and let everyone know what kind of point and shaft it is. Thanks! I enjoyed the arrow trade and can't wait to do it again!
-
If anyone is having trouble posting pictures, you can email them to me at jackcrafty2@gmail.com
If you need my phone number, send me a PM.
-
Jake sent me some pictures of his arrow.
-
Very nice arrow Jake. 8)
-
+2!
Hawkdancer
-
Glad you liked it Jake. the shaft is red osier dogwood that I harvested myself. The point I knapped from mahogony obsidian. Fletches are wild turkey, of course. The point is mounted with pitch glue and sinew.
-
I forgot to add Jeff sent me a pitch stick too.
-
Nice looking arrow
-
Got home from digging sugar beets tonight and there was a package waiting for me.
Sweet arrow from Paul. Thanks Paul.
I snapped a couple quick pictures.
Bjrogg
-
Cool arrow. Looks like a custom camouflage paint job on the shaft?
-
Nice. Looks like it will do the job. :OK
-
Cool arrow. Looks like a custom camouflage paint job on the shaft?
It is a fine arrow Patrick. It does have a cool camouflage pattern. I’m curious how he did it. It looks awesome.
Bjrogg
-
Nice. Looks like it will do the job. :OK
Yes Pat. I’m sure it is up to the job.
Bjrogg
-
Good looking arrow
-
I use a single portable electric coil range like you'd use for heating up a pot. I use that to straighten my arrows. After I get done straightening the arrow shaft I turn it up so it's red hot and I spin the shaft back and forth across the circular coil giving it very slight burn marks. It's not paint they are Burns
-
The secret is revealed... ;D
