This bow came from a standing dead small tree. I would of walked right past it if it wasn't
right beside a larger live one. The rot went deep, I was able to get a very straight
narrow slat from the centre. It was full of knots and loads of black pins. All bends are with steam, backed
with only 1.5 layers of sinew, so not a very thick backing. The rattlesnake skins are not the best matched set,
but they were scraps from larger snakes so I was happy to use them.
The bow is 46" ntn, and pulls 55# @ 24". The sinew string is my smallest diameter one yet, so like the bow,
was a bit of an experiment. Deer hide handle wrap, finished with shellac.
Cheers guys, thanks for looking

What a great looking bow. Now I have something to shoot for with some of the lesser pieces of yew I have around.

Oh, man, do less-than-gorgeous yew bows even exist? You sure did a lot with what the tree gave you! Nice bow.

Well done. I think the string will hold. I always figured sinew strings lasted a couple hundred shots, but well made sinew strings have proved to last thousands of shots.
