I would like to cut out some arrow points out of a large cow bone. What is the best method of cutting them out? Can I use hand saw? Thanks, Paul

I'ved used a hacksaw in the past. I have a bandsaw now.

Hacksaw....Bandsaw....Cutoff wheel on a Dremel Tool....whatever you use....make sure that You wear a Dust Mask at least....Respirator if you can....Bad things can happen breathing Wood....Bone or Antler Dust....believe me....I have been through it.....and it ain't no fun!

And if you're married and using a portable electric tool to cut bone, do it outside. Your wife won't love the smell and incense won't cover it.

no it's as bad as burning Hair.......and it don't go away to soon either.......... :P

My dogs love it when I am cutting or grinding bone and horn in the shop, guess they think it smells good. :)

Last time I sanded bone in the house with a Dremel (man, I just sanded a touch--not much!!), I lit some incense to cover the smell. The wife wasn't THAT upset, but she didn't buy the story that I found some "Copal, Cedar, And Deer Bone Incense" sticks.
