Hey guys, tell me if this sounds interesting.
I'm working on making a few birch core/bamboo belly mongol style composites. I wasn't sure if it would work so I googled it. Surprisingly the idea is not new. Korena archers used bamboo bellies on their recurves and apparently ATARN says the Chinese often did also. If I can get the camera running I might be able to post progressive pictures of the building process. Anybody interested?
Here is a few links related to the project.

Sorry guys but the bamboo supplier ditched my order. So I will take much longer to get the project under way and post some pics.
I have gotten about 4-5 birch bow cores with siyahs and reflexed handles glued up, just waiting for the bamboo to laminate on as a belly. My wife's digital camera needs new batteries. Sorry for the delay.
