Title: JOMO Flintknappers
Post by: Calendargirl on February 14, 2008, 12:52:12 pm
February 24, March 30, April 27, May 25, June 29, July 27, August 31, September 28, October 26, November 30, December 28 all in 2008
Pineville, MO
welcome to come and watch and try their hand at chipping if they would like.  Several of the regulars are excellent bowyers and atlatl makers/throwers so if you are interested in those things, come on!
We want to meet about once a month to chip flint, relax, and enjoy the fellowship of like minded Christian people.  ANYONE is welcome, including children.  Bows & atlatls are welcome along with any other primitive skills you'd like to share or learn.  No cost.  This is not a commercial knap-in so please do not come with the idea of setting up to sell stuff.  Bring your own chair and something to add to the picnic table.

Missouri Trading Company is located at our new location in Pineville MO.    Take 71 Highway to K Highway just south of Pineville.  Turn east on K and go about 1/4 mile to Havenhurst Drive.  Turn south on Havenhurst Drive and you're there!  Havenhurst Drive is a gravel road, the last road before you cross Sugar Creek Bridge.  Come and chip with us on the banks of beautiful Sugar Creek.  It's gorgeous.  Bring a fishing pole (& MO license!).  Hunt for arrowheads along the creek; they are there!

i believe they are holding some of it indoor.  If you google "missouri trading"  and go to events you should get a better idea.  There is probably a contact email on there.  ;D  I remember seeing a picture from their window looking outside and it looked so beautiful.  I think the mentioned something about indoors, bt can't guarantee it as I am on my event adding spree.    ;D

Ok I looked at the map.  It is directly South of Joplin and Nort of Fayetteville, AR.  Kind of in the corner of Ok, MO, and Ar

If you mean Bull Shoals AR then it is West about 3 hrs and slightly north
It is directly S. of Kansas City.  I think before I said St. Louis or something.  Anyway I was wrong.  I hope that helps...  ;D
So who is going?
Speak out!  ;D

I was going to try and make it this weekend, but life happened.  I've never been there per' se, but I've been through Pineville before.  It's straight south of Joplin on Hi-way 71.

Looks like fun, (and the creek looks inviting too).  Bummer.  :'(
