Title: decided on a magyar.
Post by: Renacs on September 28, 2014, 11:34:28 pm
Ok. I've decided to build a magyar for my first composite. While I gather materials, what books or reference would you recommend? And is there any specialty tool that I need for the project?  Also what about thumb rings? I figured that's something I can work on while out of town.    Thanks joe

You can use this recommendation. It is generally accepted by archaeologists and bowyers in Hungary. For the building use Adam Karpowicz's book. Good luck!

I see that there are copies for sale but written in German...that or $150 for the book!  Whew!

There is an app on the phones that instantly translates languages in real time onto your picture viewer.  Maybe that is the way to go.

I'd buy a second edition copy, if anything just to support it so those who really want to build them have the resource.

My copy of Adam's book is just about dead after getting sinew glue split on it...I need a new copy.
Does anybody know if more English copies are to be printed?
