I've finished up an Osage recurve I've been working on, I hope to use it for deer hunting this fall. It's exactly 50lb@23". The bow is 48" ntn because I didn't know if I was going to be hunting in a blind, and if I am going to hunt from one some, the bow I would have to use would have to be below 60" long. So, to give myself a little room for movement, I wanted a bow that would be about 47-48" ntn. As you can see, I have another hole in one limb, like the last one. :)
Between the leather I glued on the curves and the rabbit-skin handle (the fur drapes across the strike plate), this bow is very quiet. I hardly hear a thing when I shoot it. Before I wrapped the handle, it was painful to shoot; the bow would bounce in my hand and began to bruise it. The rabbit-skin helps a lot to cushion the shot; now it's actually a very pleasant shooter! The weight jump from 40lb. to 50lb. was a struggle at first, but after pulling it quite often every day for about a week, I can shoot it normally. All right, I'll shut up now and show the pictures. ;)

that's a fine looking bow. I especially like the handle wrapped with fur, which gives it a nice primitive look.

The tiller looks great Sean. You have a sharp looking bow there. That is a pretty darn short bow, even with a 23" draw. How stable is it to shoot? Justin

Way cool little bow. Nice work...keep on gettin' at it....

Its apparent to me that our future is assured if a fine young gentleman like yourself
is growing up to replace us codgers ;D
Awesome some bow sean, I like everything about it.
I hope the buck of your life walks by ya this fall.

Looks great, and I'm gonna use your idea for the grip, because I just put some recurves on my 58" osage and I found that although the arrows seem to fling out of it with a little more authority that it has more handshock.

Nice job there fella. I like them curves. I also hope you get an opportunity to fling an arrow at a deer with your bow.

I love the handle design. Beautiful curves in the FD shots. Lots of strong medicine there. I wouldn't be surprised to see you take down a monster buck this fall.

Well done, Sean.
She looks like a good shooter even with 23" drawlength.

Fine little weapon, Sean, you did an excellent job on it. That fuzzy handle oughta keep your hands warm this fall, too :)
