Ok everybody, Its time to get this Christmas trade going. The rules are simple. Your gift can be anything you like so long as its either handmade or raw materials. It need not be strictly primitive, but you can't buy a gift for your recipient. Its up to you to research your recipient to find out what they would like to receive, and please do so.
Sign up here in this thread if you wish to participate but, you MUST pm either me or Blaflair2 with your address. Please include if you are able to ship outside the US or not as well as whether you are right or left handed and some bow specs just in case that's what your sender decides to send. Please use the following format when sending us your info.

Man I'd like to, but it might be next year for me. I've barely had a chance to do any of that in the last few months and I don't know if the next few look any better. I think I will work on my skills for next time :)

Im in. I dont care whats made for me so long as you had fun making it.
To make it easy on my stalker I am 5'9 weigh 240 ( all muscle of course ) prior navy, right handed, dont have any draw weight preferences 25#-125# is good with me, I like anything useful, I hunt, fish ( a better fisherman than hunter I admit ) am interested in black powder but havent made one yet, I hate making arrows, I love using commas, and periods.... and run on sentances, I want to eventually make my own hunting clothing like a good poncho, I enjoy puppiez, poetry ( the good stuff not modern carp ), long walks on the beach, pretty woman ( ifs a good movie I dont care what yall say ) im building my second boat of my own design right now but lack of money is really slowing me down ( and when I earn it it gets stollen if I leave it in my car ) honey dipped salted pecans are amazing, I am an artist who likes to draw with home made charcoal, my favorite pair of cowboy boots are so worn out they are going to become quiver material one day, I dig classic rock, oldies, and classic county, I used to ride bulls , ive saed the seven seas, been launched of an aircraft carrier, in general I'm awesome, been married 9 years to my wife and have an 8 year old son who loves archery also and made his own osage bow already, if I had to bug out and only grab one tool it would be a good knife or a hatchet ( so long as its light weight) man can do anything with a good blade, I want to learn how to knapp, I am going to make my wife and my 10 year anniversary rings but dont have the metal yet to do it, I wann abuild an electric guitar one day then learn to play, I make good moonshine but gave my still away and need another, one of these days soon I wanna make a sextant and learn to navigate by the stars, I need a good set of chisels and gouges for wood carving as I like to do that, anyways I could keep going but honestly if anybody has some fountain of youth water so I can live long enough to do everything I wanna do in life, that would be great.

No, we don't mind at all. I'm sure there are plenty on here who would love to get a good set of knapped points or something.

We are at the point with names on the list that my head is starting to swirl with potential scenarios of how I would inflict my personality on my victi....recipient. >:D I know not what dark thoughts reside in my subconscious, but they are bubbling to the surface so rapidly that I fear becoming cloaked in madness! If only I would receive but one name, one single name on which I could loose these thoughts, these dark passengers sitting on both shoulders whispering naughty, naughty words in my ears!
I do see some new names on the list, folks I would encourage to go search out last year's Christmas Exchange threads to see some of the wonderful things people dream up to send. For example, I was a very lucky recipient, I got a sister pair of osage character billets, a pair of matched bull snake skins, a huge bag of shelled pecans (oh lord the pecan pies we made!) and a rare book I had wanted to read for over two decades. Yeah, my guy went over and above what was expected, and in spades! I am not expecting everyone to turn out the shop and the kitchen sink for their recipient! But look around at all the wonderful things you have where you live and your recipient does not have where they live. Stalk your recipient by reading every one of their posts for the past 7 years, search out their Facebook page, pay their mailman to do create a dossier, find their soft spot and go in for the kill shot!
I'm thinking I might send some owl pellets....

Yep JW that's the way to do it. Search through there posts and try to get to know what they would like. I think I'll pass on the owl pellets though.
Just updated the list on the first page. 24 names so far. We're still missing info from a couple of guys, but all in all we're off to a real good start. If you can't find your name on the list, check your inbox. You should have a pm with the things I'm missing.

I'm in. Easy to please anything hand made is cool. I can't knap yet. I have made bows, arrows, quivers. Just can't find the time to get started knapping no rock around.

You know the deadline for shipping should be a couple days before Christmas. Something like you can't ship before DEC 1st and no later than DEC 22 . it is a Christmas trade . and everyone should have there gift before Christmas . anyone else agree?

With everything going on around Christmas anyway the dates chosen have worked well in the past. Trying to get everyone done and shipped by Christmas would be too hectic, IMO, and could be a burden for the folks that are signing up. Plus with the USPS so overloaded at that time stretching out the shipping time as it is alleviates tat rush. This Christmas trade is meant to be fun.

I'll try and make it easier for whoever gets my name. I am 6'0 and currently weighing about 304. My draw length is about 28. Weight really isn't an issue. I shoot right handed. I am a beginner in about all aspects. I make arrows, bows, Trade points, (I try anyway) and Stirings. I am willing to try anything once. I am not easily offended. I drink, I love to cook. I love to fish. I have small hands. Shoe size is 10. >:D
I am painfully slow at working on bows.

I'm in. I'm right handed and can shoot up to a 60 pound bow at 28 inches. I am a fisherman, hunter and knapper, and I love anything related to primitive arts and crafting.

Put me in the mix. I missed it last year and was bummed out
I'm 6'2" @ 280lbs.Right handed. Shoot a 55lb longbow with a 29" draw. I hunt,fish and make arrows. I like pretty well any gift I get. The toaster I got from the brother-n-law one year was cutting it close though ;D . That's about it for me.

I already have a box Im starting to fill with general items, as soon as I get a name the hunt begins! Ill add to the basic box and make a really personal gift if I can! Give as if you would recieve, unless your not nice to yourself! :D

You sure got that right! You get what you get. Anyone that whines or complains about what they receive has violated the spirit of the trade and the spirit of Christmas. They are a Grinch, an unrepentant Scrooge, and worse. They don't even deserve coal in their stocking!

Coal?? I would be happy with coal because then I would have an excuse to make a coal forge. Then I would have an excuse to use my new coal forge and I could make a knife. Then I would have to make a new bow to go with my new knife. Then I would need to make some new arrows to go with my new bow and new knife. Then I would need to make a new quiver to hold my new arrows. So actually coal sounds pretty good. ;D
