Finished up my 3rd 13 hr night shift Monday morning, beat feet and got in my stand at 730, shot the doe at 8. Ran on adrenalin the rest of the day, but I was tired.
Thursday was cold and rainy in the morning so I slept. Rain eased off at 10, so I headed to a spot that I can only hunt from the ground. Buck following a doe offered me a shot and that was it.

Nice job rps3, talk about efficiency wow. That looks like a real nice shot on a real nice buck. What kinda bow and arrow? Looks like Osage and some shoot shafts? How close did he get? Just trying to see it all in my head. Congratulations I'm sure your still seeing him in your head hopefully while your catching up on your sleep 😴 Looks like you got some extra work dressing 2 deer when your not working

Thanks all.
I used a recently finished osage selfbow. I do have one shoot shaft in there, but I chickened out and used the old standby cedar arrows. I need to spend more time with my shoot shafts to gain confidence in them. I was fortunate to make 2 perfect shots on these deer. The doe was a 10 yrd shot from a stand shooting down a hill at a steep angle, the buck was a 20 yrd shot from the ground.
Lots of work ahead yet cutting and wrapping, but I and my family are grateful for it.

Very well done, congrats on 2 fine critters. Pappy

Nice equipment and nice shooting.....I have my last deer roast in the slow cooker as I type (last years). I really like the roasts and you have several good ones to choose from. Enjoy the rewards!
I need to get busy....;-)
