While I was out splitting firewood today I came across a unique piece of osage limb. Before throwing it into the wood pile I took a break and made up another hide scraping tool. All that's needed now is a chunk of a mill bastart file beveled on one edge and glued and lashed to this stick now.Works just as good as an elk antler scraper.

I've seen some of these unique pieces of osage limbs used for mail boxes too. They just all of a sudden grow at a 90 degree angle.

Neat, a good eye for utility! Should make a nice scraper when "loaded up"!

That's what I thought too.Although it'll have to set on the shelf as a back up to these. With a mill bastard file as a blade it holds an edge for quite some time.
