Here is my latest. Its a tri lam bamboo back with a bamboo core and an ipe belly. The handle is mainly acacia. The bow is made from shorter pieces that are joined in the handle area with scarf joints. The bamboo back is one piece. There is also a 20" long ipe power lam under the bamboo back. The handle is 12" long. This bow took a bit longer than some so I decided to take some pictures and post it. Its 1 1/4" wide to mid limb then tapers to a point. Its 66" long and weighs in at 60.2# @ 28". Feels very quick and dead in my hand when shot. I gave the bamboo back a dark grey distressed finish so it will blend in nicely for hunting. Thanks for looking. :)

Great job on that one, my favorite flight shooting design. Fastest R/d bows I have ever built or tested looked just about like yours.
-
Very nice!
-
Not one for lams but that sure is nice.. Tiller is a stunner.
-
Bwautiful bow sir!! Love the way you finished the bamboo on the back!

The back does blend in very well! Everything about that bow is super duper sexy! This is the kinda bow that makes me wish I was allowed to swear on this forum! :) Very nice!

Very nice Jesse. You got those reflexed limbs to open right up. She looks fast. 8)

Oh boy!! That is gorgeous! Nicely done. You have some serious skill. There has been quite a few R/D bows posted here lately, but this is what the tiller should look like on this type of bow.
-
Sexy, Stealthy Thumper! Your usual refined style shows beautifully. I'm curious how thick you made each lam? Ron

Badger-- That's good to hear. I never really tried flight shooting. I know there is a lot more involved than a fast bow.
ADB--- I appreciate that. Thank you :)

That is just fantastic. If and when I get around to making a bow with that profile, this is the one I will refer back to. Thanks for sharing!

Man Jesse that's a fine weapon right there. Great job. I need to stick to strait bows at the current skill level. But when I muster the confidence I could only hope it turns out half as good as that one. Great job.
-
You did a great job on that thoose glue lines are great like it all.
-
Great bow, nice detail work!
-
Beautiful bow Jesse, that has to be a sweet shooter. ;)

That Sir, is a gorgeous bow! Great tiller. I love the handle!
-
Thanks again to everyone. I do appreciate all the positive feedback. :) I remember my first bow many years ago. It looked the same strung or unstrung it had so much set. I was hooked once I let the first arrow fly. Even though I had to lob it to hit the target at 15 yds :) Jesse
-
I have never tried a laminated bow, but if I do, I will be pestering you for guidance 'cause I can see that you have them mastered. That is a work of art. I want to shoot it! : ;D
-
Thanks hrhodes. :)
-
Great bow, it's awesome. The core seems very thin, can you tell us how thick it is, is it tapered?

thank you. The core is about 5/32" at the thickest the ipe is about 1/4". yes I pre tapered it to .002 per inch along with the ipe for a total of .004 per inch. Still plenty of tillering but thats a good start
-
Very nicely executed. 8)
I know that 'dead' feeling....that bow will be 180's fps @ 10gpp... >:D
-
That's a really beautiful bow man! Good work.
-
very nice, I bet its fast and a pleasure to shoot, interesting combination with the boo core, I've made similar bows with a maple core
-
Thanks guys.
Dragonman. Thanks. Maple makes a great core also. Are you still making the jewelry these days?

Very nice ! That will be a good hunting bow !

Jesse do you shoot off bare shelf or do you plan on adding a rest now that that beauty is well shown off ?
-
Thanks Marc and Griff.

I shoot off the bare shelf while building but it has a pad on it now. It actually doesn't make too much difference.
