Title: Indiana Traditional Bowhunters Association
Post by: bowtarist on December 28, 2013, 07:08:26 pm
Not totally primitive, but they are friendly to us.

Their shoots start the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month starting January 04. In 16 years they have never cancelled a shoot. Goes to 3rd Saturday after the May three day event, then another three dayer in September.

It's in Scottsburg, Indiana at the conservaton club. check out their web site.

There is a handfull of us that starting going there last fall. Great time.

Maybe Danzn Bar can add more info, I just wanted people to know it was starting.

Hope to see some of ya there, have a gooder, dpgratz

I met him in September there. He's the one that stayed up late w/ us during the storm talking in the meeting hall.

One more thing about the ITBA shoots...they are pretty cheap, $10.00 or so non-member.

See ya next Saturday, dp

Guy,
Maybe you could make one of the two day shoots they have, one in May and one in September, I most likely will not make the one in May, got too many other commitments in May.  But the one in September is great, had about 5-6 PA guys there last year.

I had a SkillsUSA welding competition cancelled last weekend and moved to the !st of Feb. Won't make the shoot unless they cancel again this weekend.  Wife is feeling sorry for me now, so if all goes well there should be no reason to miss the next.

Talked to a member in Vernon and he said they shoot traditional inside somewhere in Scottsburg on Tuesdays.

I will be ice fishing, have fun.

Yeah the place in Scottsburg is TJ's Achery Barn - indoor traditional only on Tuesday nights at 7:00. It's only a couple of miles from the club. I am trying to make it to one of these shoots but my work schedule keeps geting in the way. The guys who have been say it is a good time.

Have fun ice fishing, I hope I'm not fishing arrows out of the lake .... again!

The guy said they have a real good time on the Tuesday night shoots. Ice is probably thick enough now that I would try to get my over shots like last shoot. Have fun and maybe catch you guys on the 15th.

We had a great time! Pretty good turn out, the weather was pretty nice really, just a little muddy, and they had some killer vegetable soup! I noticed a number of selfbows in attendance too.

Hope we can all make it on the 15th.

This Saturday the 19th is a "blanket shoot". You can place an item on the blanket rather than pay an entry fee. Then the highest score gets first choice off the blanket all the the way down to the lowest (probably me). It's a lot of fun with a LOT of good natured heckling of course.

You also have the option of paying the regular shoot fee if you don't want to participate in the blanket shoot. You are still welcome to join in on the heckling (no fee for that)!

I plan to be there with both of my kids and maybe my extra kid too! They have been working on the course it should be a great set (as usual). Hope to see some of you all there.

I understand, the three day in May happens to fall on my wedding anniversary. So far she's not too hip on camping at Scottsburg as the dream anniversary gift ....

Good thing though, Cloverdale falls on my birthday so I think I've a good angle on that one!!!

Mark,
I'm planning on being there.....
How about it Tracy, Ozzy, Clint, DLH, Shane, Joe, Dave and any other PA guy reading this that is close by, let's all make it on the 17th with our selfbows and have a great time.  if you don't have a selfbow any traditional bow will work! Great shoot, very good sets and good food, all at a very reasonable price.
Sound out !! and lets have some fun.
