Title: Hello! 3 bows..
Post by: GetWood on August 01, 2011, 10:26:22 am
Hello everybody!

I like to introduce myself, Im kristof,28y old from Belgium. Some of you may know me from the other forums.
id like to show these 2 bows i made a fiew weeks ago,and one i just finished today..

The first one is a 63"BL Hunting bow. Pulling 50pounds at 27" I can pull it further at about 29"..but 27 is my drawlength.
I made some drawings of a hunter and feather on the back..Maybe its a little over the top, but i like it!
Next one is a bit of a character bow (molly type)
Its European bird cherry, 62"ntn. Pulling 60pounds at 27"  a little to heavy for my taste!!  I will reduce it later..
This bow is very fast!! but drawing it, is somthing else!! Its the first time i worked with bird cherry and i like it!

I hope you'll like em..

Thanks !

Forgot the 3rd Bow!  8)

Its a 66"1/2 BL hunter bow 45# at 28"draw.. Made from a small (dead) sapling so its quite narrow 1"1/4 from the fades to mid limb, and tapered the last 8" to 1/2" and has some knots!.
It has a straight profile with flipped tips.HT it twice.. It draws and shoots very smooth.

enjoy :)

Great job on those bows, they look great!  I also really like that quiver.  Did you make it and is that a fox eating your arrows?

Kristof hello, welcome, I'm surprised your bow so nice, I like the knots, it looks great, and the drawings are painted or burned? are beautiful, I want them in my bow, if you do not mind, very original

Kristof, very nice indeed. I think youv'e got the knots figured out and it really adds character. As for the quiver,it rocks. I did'nt realize there were rednecks in Belgium but I do now. Great job all around. I think you will fit in nicely around here.  Danny

Hello Kristof, welcome to PA!
Nice bows you made here!
Where are you in Belgium? I live in Germany right by the Belgium border close to St.Vith.

Excellent looking bows.  Love them all.  The knotty character staves are always my favorite...not sure why but I am sure I love em.

I was lucky to find a local grove of pipe straight Black Locust and harvested one about 2 months ago, can't wait to try my hand on this wood.  I should probably go harvest a few more trees while I have permission.

Welcome!

Thank you EVERYBODY!!  ;D
I appreciate it very much! @ medicinewheel: I live in limburg,(flemish part) not so far away from the german border :) Achen is quite near by were i live.. Bout 35min drive..St.vith is a bit further for that matter
@Lee Slikkers,I would  take whatever you can get out there! I love Locust! Its definitely my favorite kind of wood! somtimes a little tricky, but you learn very fast when you work this wood! Tread it like osage. but i heard its a little bit less forgiving..
@juan lopez: Feel free to use them man! im glad you like em :) ow and the little guy is painted, and the feather is spray painted with a stencil..
