hers a couple I made today
palm wood and pedernales
-
here's the Georgetown.
unfortunately it lost a ear on the second flute.
One of the release flakes on the back side of the platform scooped off the whole back side of the platform and that made it so thin that the ear was kind of cut off.

Great work again. Really like working Palm wood. Getting tougher to find tho.
-
Once again beautiful work 1442.
That palm point looks deadly.

That palm point!

I have some palmwood and what I have is like working concrete. Guess it's not heat treated enough.
-
Very nice! Don't believe I've seen the palm wood before.

Awesome

nice 1442! where did you get the petrified palm?
-
Thanks y'all
the palmwood was a small slab that was gifted to me recently.
This piece was kind of brittle, but I've had some that was really slick like working Georgetown.
I had a piece that was stunningly beautiful that I bought at an antique shop once and it was like super hard concrete and just wouldn't knap at all.
I still have a slab gifted by the same person who gave me this one that is awesome. It's rusty red with black dots and test flaked really good.
