Offical dates for MOJam this year are July 14-16. Of course early arrivals are welcome. Hope the winter is treating everyone well. I am collecting mason jars full of cool air. Hope they keep till July. If not I may have to find something else to do witht he mason jars. Keith
-
Whoop whoop, can't wait!
-
I am requesting vacation time now
-
Forget the cold air.
Sounds like you need 100# of yeast and some copper line. A yankee doesn't need to be telling you that though I'm sure.
I've been taking work trip in that neck of the woods. I like it very much compared to it's eastern neighbors. It actually remind me of the PA mountains. I get less homesick working in MO. It would be nice if I was working down there around the time of the event.
-
Missed last year (stinking Hawaii vacation!) Plan to be there this year.
-
I'll adjust this as we get a bit closer, but for now it points to 8 AM the morning of the 14th.
OneBow
Count down to MOJAM!!! - - - 162 days 16 hours 17 minutes 45 seconds

Mine's been approved! >:D

So your gonna be let out of the house? I hope you have more than a bath robe to wear.
-
MoJam's such a special happening that am considering bring the fur-trimmed robe this year!
-
I am thinking of going 100% traditional this year. Bison robe and loincloth. Probably kangaroo with the tail infront dangeling down. And of course, my KaBar.
-
Dang Sleek wearing that bison robe at MoJam will get it smelling "natural" real quick!
Neal
-
The loin cloth is scary enough as it is... :o
-
I wouldn't miss it. I'll be there all week. I can't wait
-
I can't wait
Hope ya have time to make oak board bow before the big week!
-
Yep, MoJAM 2016, keep catching that cold air Keith, it will be a welcome addition to the festivities. "Let the good times roll".
Scrape, Scrape, Scrape....
-
I wouldn't miss it for the world! Might even be the first person there again this year!
Do you think we could turn the heat down a bit though? It was just above comfortable last year. >:D
Patrick
-
Hey Mobow - Any chance that we'll have a few more electric outlets in the campers ally this year? Just a small fan running can be all the difference in the world of an evening trying to sleep in that heat...
OneBow
-
Or an air conditioned tent.... O:)
-
Or some guy's need it for their c-pap machines.
Patrick
-
And to prevent heat stroke.... An air conditioned tent... O:)
-
I'll vote for a cooler version this year too. Last year the heat/humidity really had me whipped worse than usual by Saturday night.
:-[
-
That is a true statement my friend.
Patrick
-
Guys.... Just sleep in the back of the truck until you're soaking wet and then crawl under the truck and sleep there. You'll be comfy cuz you won't know if it's sweat or rain ;D
-
Well mojam is getting closer and will be here before we know it. I have a few more bows to finish before then. One being for a friend's grandson in a trade at mojam.
I hope everyone can make it, I may have more family with me this year. Might even have a niece with me when I get there on the Sunday before. Anyways, I can't wait!!!
Hey Onebowwonder, what's the countdown to?
Patrick
-
Unfortunately my friends I wont be there. Im working a contract in Charleston for the next 6 months.
-
Unfortunately my friends I wont be there. Im working a contract in Charleston for the next 6 months.
Hey buddy, it's only a short hop, skip and a 17 hour jump! >:D
Sorry you can't make it this year bud. I'll keep the tent cool. Bringing a camper this time!
Patrick
-
<snip>
Hey Onebowwonder, what's the countdown to?
Patrick
Officially, the timer sets at 86 days 12 hours 16 minutes 37 seconds right now, but I imagine there will be several of us ahead of that by a few days anyway...
OneBow
-
Thanks buddy! It will be here before we know it that's for sure!
Patrick
-
My time is requested followed by or I'll quit. >:D
Looking forward to a week in heaven with temperatures from hell. Already I'll be in good company.
-

Looking forward to a week in heaven with temperatures from hell. Already I'll be in good company.
That last sentence sums it up pretty well Dave . We should get that on a tee shirt... :)
-
I'll second that motion Paul!
Patrick
-

Yes!
-
I think sweat towels would be better than t shirts. Or maybe some of those cool water blowing misters. Either way, there is nowhere I'd rather be.
-

Thats a fact brother!
Patrick
-
Pat. I haven't had the time to get many rabbits cuz I've been busy with the house, but I've got a few still left. We should have a smoked dinner night early in the week.
-
That sounds good Dave, I'll bring some squirrel to add to the mix. We can do it on Monday or Tuesday.
Patrick
-
I gots wabbits running all over the place!
-
That's because you're a bad shot Mike. >:D
-
What? Won't a slingshot kill a rabbit?
OneBow
-
Heck a coon is bigger than a rabbit, and we all know he cat hit a coon! >:D
Patrick
-
We needed night vision goggles for the coon hunt.
-
We needed night vision goggles for the coon hunt.
I had 2 pair of Military Surplus night vision apparati, but the danged Coons stole 'em right out of the case where it was hung on the back of my chair whilst I wasn't watching. They'll prolly come back this year looking for fresh batteries for the things!
OneBow 8) 8) 8) :o
-
Excuses excuses, all we need is Marly and her coon killer knife!
Patrick
-
Her knife went to the auction. We will need nate to spesrhesd the operation. He got the knije at the auction. Im sure marley will make more this year. If the raccoon thst visited us last yesr made it hed be about besr size by now.
-
No kidding, their was some big ones!
Patrick
-
Well I got my confirmation today, I'll have some custom brewed beer to share at mojam. My neighbor that lives accross the street from me makes and bottles his own beer. He also sells it at a bar here in town. I'm getting one batch, 40 to 50 bottles for 35 bucks!
Disclaimer : this is for my good friend and myself. Don't be a libation mooch!!! Hahaha >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D
Patrick
-
Ummmmmmmm!
May I be your friend? May I? May I?
-
Ok buddy since you asked so nicely!
Patrick
-
We can have that gone before anyone else gets there pat. No need to hurt anyone's feelings.
-
We can have that gone before anyone else gets there pat. No need to hurt anyone's feelings.
Ohhh, I like the way this guy thinks!
-
Sounds like a plan guys!
I believe I was trying to say friends, meaning more than one. I guess we will just have to drink Mikes mango juice when this runs out!
Patrick
-
There is always the Jug too. Unless Sal gets to it first. >:D
-
Yeah, and when nonose shows up there will be some white lighting!
Patrick
-
So I dont need to bring anything then?
-
No John, you could bring some of yours, we will need something for the evening time.
Patrick
-
So I dont need to bring anything then?
Very funny!
Well, actually, on 2nd thought, that's not funny AT ALL!!!
-
Funny I'd put jons jugs as a breakfast shine. Lol.
-
I invited down a new traditional vendor, Feathers-n-Wood. Nice folks just getting stated with a traditional archery supply business out of their basement/home. They hope to be able to make it his year.
-
Dave if it was up to Mike we would start at breakfast!
-
That's good news, Paul! Hope they make it.
-
Thats good to hear paul. I used to spend about 100 at the knocking point every year. Sorta replenish anything i needed. Ill be sure to give them some support. Mojam needs a few more vendors. Ill probably have a bunch of staves thrre too going at hot sale prices. I talked to my osage guy and he will have at least one log for me come july.
-
Thats good to hear, I will definitely be looking for some stuff for my supply boxes come mojam. It will be good to have some new blood there.
Patrick
-
I hope that they can make it too. It's also VBS week they told me but their son seemed to not mind missing a couple days of that .. ;)
Mostly they seemed to have arrow building supplies . The husband makes quivers, armguards and other leatherwork.
-
Sounds good Paul, hope your friend can make it.
-
Getting close! It looks like I will not be able to get there till Wednesday, (which is WAY LATE for me), so save me some of that Breakfast shine!
OneBow
-
Will do Eric.
-
Hard tellin what day I'm showin up this year. I should be bringin a little of everything though. Let me know if there's something special and I'll see if I can make it.
-
not sure exactly when I will arrive for sure,,,Tuesday or Wednesday aftnoon at the latest. So someone please tell me who do I need to contact to make sure I get a tshirt ordered?????
-
Mobow who started the thread should be able to help you out with the shirts Chris.
That's to bad to hear Eric, you'll miss the "entertainment I had lined up" >:D
-
I wonder how many "S's" the T shirts will have in "Missouri" this year..? ;)
-
I need to get my ssssshirt ordered. Maybe sssee if I can get one that ssays first to arrive!
Patrick
-
We will sssee who getsss there firssst thisss year.
-
Patrick is already there Dave! He had me drop him off on the way home from Michigan last week. He plans to forage off the land until you guys get there in July…

Patrick
-
<snip>...and 3 snakes.
Patrick
Mmmmm.... Ssssnakes are good with Spaghetti or Fettuccine pasta, ...but I prefer the white Alfredo sauce over the traditional Red one!
OneBow
-
He must not see me camped down the hill by the tracks. I had Norfolk southern contract me a food deal. I be been camped here since you all left for Marshall.

OneBow
That's one strategy to lose some weight . .. . . . >:D
-
Well I'll say this, cutting out all of the carbs has been great. But after reading Erics post I'm going to have to sneak down to Daves camp tonight and see if I can horde in on some of his catered meals.
Patrick
-
Always good eating at mojam.
There is a good chance that I'll be there Saturday.
-
Well if you are planning on being there on Saturday make sure I have a nice level spot near a plug-in down by your camp. I'm going to have a small camper this year.
Patrick
-
Will do bud.
-
Thank you Sir!
Patrick
-
I have a large snake im bringing to skin for the auction table Saturday. Its been in my freezer far to long. Im thinking it might be thawed by then
-
Cool, I might have a bow for the table. That is if I can get it done by then.

Knowing Dave the skin will end up on the Auction table but the rest might end up on the Saturday buffet table... ;)
-
I'm sure with a fresh move I'll have lots to out on the table this year.
It's possible. Watch out for the large amount of ribs this year. Lol
-
I've never had smoked snake Dave!?
Patrick
-
Well, it has been awhile since I have been here and as I would expect the stuff is as deep as usual. Will be good to see you all. We have the heat this week so maybe it will turn cool next month. I have forgot my password for the other site to put up a t-shirt thread but will do so when they send me a new password. Would do it here but it is against policy. So check tradgang in a few days. See you soon. Keith
-
Hi Keith,
I'll be hoping to be in my usual spot on the "hill" by Wednesday. Hope you got the fat boy size in t shirts this year.
Oh and how many "S's" are in Missouri...? >:D
-
Hey Keith, it's good to hear from you! I was wondering if the gate will be open and if the water would be on the Saturday before? I think Dave will be there Saturday and maybe myself.
Patrick
-
yes. Gate can be left open and the water will be on. There are no s's. it is Mashall MO. Keith
-
Haha, so no R this time
-
There are no s's. it is Mashall MO. Keith
That's funny!!

Paul what would mojam be without the welcoming committee. Have you heard From lenny yet?
That forcast seems just about right for good timin! >:D
-
I am having a hard time getting on trad gang for t-shirt orders so just look up Robin early. We will order what we had last year with maybe a few adjustments here and there. Keith
-
Sounds like a plan Keith. Hope there are a couple 2XL's and an L... ::)
-
Sounds good to me, too. Won't be long now. Sounds like Bob, Larry and me are coming, don't know bout Rob. Sal's teaching summer school this year so he's taking a pass.
-
<snip>Sal's teaching summer school this year so he's taking a pass.
Oh MY! Without Sal there, what are we going to do with all the surplus Apple Pie?
Here's a thought Sal, why don't you go to the school administration and setup a Field Trip plan? Then you could just haul all your summer school students to MOJAM! I'm pretty sure it'd be REALLY Educational...
OneBow
-
^^^
Yeah, "educational" in the "If you can't be an example at least be a warning." category... ::)
;) :)
-
Well guy's, add one more fella the the list. My friend Larry that makes the elk handle scrapers is planning on coming up for a few days. He wants to set up a small booth for his scrapers. It might be ya'll's lucky year, he informed me he would be willing to trade for them this year!
My wife will come in mid week and my sister in law will hopefully be there for a day or two.
There is a really good possibility that my niece and nephew will be bringing my great niece's up for a day. They are the ones I made the rattan bows for.
My buddy that lives accross the street is also going to try to make it. I'm pretty sure his nephew Devon is coming.
I tell everyone and I'm surprised at how many people are interested in going to mojam.
Patrick
-
Nice work pat! I've got my neighbor coming as my new guy.
Glad to hear your all gonna make it Dan!
Keith, a few of those kids shirts to if you don't mind. ;)
-
If it's this hot, I'll volunteer for full time kid-sitter at the pool.
-
If it's this hot, I'll volunteer for full time kid-sitter at the pool.
You've gotta stay up at the Bow shop and teach me how to make a Red Oak Board Bow!!! :)
OneBow
-
So, I just checked with my special contacts at Weather.COM and got a look at the MOST RECENT forecast for Marshall, MO during the MOJAM event. Amazingly, it looks like we may need a jacket in the evenings! ;)
OneBow
-
I think that your "special contacts" are a tad optimistic Eric ... ???
;) :D
-
That looks like the forecast from 2 years ago!
Patrick
-
If the weather looks like that I will never forgive myself for jot going.... :'(
-
I'm crossing my fingers for that forecast
-
Just looked at the calendar, I leave for mojam in right at 3 weeks!
Get your projects done guy's! It's almost here!
Patrick
-
I needed the reminder. Thanks!
-
Any time bud!
Patrick
-
Paul what would mojam be without the welcoming committee. Have you heard From lenny yet?
That forcast seems just about right for good timin! >:D
Heard from him today. They'll be there Thursday. :D
-
I was cleaning up my hard drive prior to a system upgrade this morning and found this old excel file that I had forgot I even made!
So, ...Here's my MOJAM countdown timer...
22 days 3 hours 19 minutes 18 seconds
OneBow
-
Thats cool Eric! I just done a redneck count on how many days/hours for my mojam arrival.
Something like 19 days and 14 hours!
Patrick
-
Well bad news. The giant snake skin didn't survive the move. It got left in a hot truck for three days and I couldn't deal with it so I'm going to try and hit up my snake guy for some replacements.
-
You're not supposed to leave your kids, pets, or dead snakes in a hot car in the summer Dave. Geez
-
Dang, Dave!!
-
Bring your slingshots. May need to defend against evening raccoon infiltration!
-
I'll have mine ready and loaded for bear!
Patrick
-
Pat, see your once a Eagle Scout always ........a Eagle Scout built the bridge by the running pig over 20 years ago. It served us well but it washed out last week. We were wondering what to do with our free time. I guess now we know. See you all soon. Keith
-
Dang Keith, I hope that bridge didn't do to much damage.
The big sign I built for my Eagle project is Still standing tall. It's been some 23 years since I put the last nail in her. We tend to build stuff to last!
Can't wait to see you either. Hope you have a couple of XXXL Shirts in your box?
Patrick
-
Keith, I'll bring my tools and give you all a hand. Just pet me know :)
-
Keith, I'll bring my tool and you all give a hand. Just pet me now :)
Does it seem like Dave is acting pretty needy for some petting to you guys??? :o >:D ::) ;)
OneBow
-
The heats gettin to him..
-
Nice. I'll blame the heat for that one too. Usually I get some time to adjust to this weather, but hot this year. Just boom 110 degrees .
-
I hear ya brother, the heat is getting to me to. I wired up some plugs today. Spent 2 hours trying to figure out why the breaker kept tripping. Apparently the black and white wires can't be tied together in the same wire nut. I put two white wires with one black and then caped off a black wire by itself. Not really sure what I was thinking.
Patrick
-
Though I often H A T E it very very much, ...there are times when it is indeed a blessing to have a cubical job!
OneBow
-
I can never figure out why people move south cause its cold here in in the winter when they can stay inside anyway. Then in the summer when you should be outside its to hot to leave the air conditioning. :o
-
relatively mild winter, early spring, & lonnnnng fall. ::)
-
13 days 11 hours 3 minutes 58 seconds till I start toward MOJAM... - OneBow
-
For a few guys, it's just half of that. ;)
-
Yup!
Patrick
-
Pretty optimistic about the weather but it's gonna be what it's gonna be.Had to get my tires rebalanced better for the trip here.Tired of the seat next to me vibrating like Jody Fosters' chair in the movie Contact.........lol.
Guess I'll take my trade bow with me to Mojam too.My victim might be there.
-
Ed, if you want to come early in the week. I might be able to practice with my new bow some before I get busy! >:D
Patrick
-
Ok guy's, I'm wondering who is bringing what? I'm bringing my tiller setup, my R/D caul, clamps, heat gun, shave horse, and my big fan for use down at the pavilion.
Patrick
-
Hey MoJammers
There is a thread on Tradgang Powwow, folks are putting in their size orders for the 2016 MoJAM T-Shirts.
-
Thank goodness for the fan, Pat. It was soooooo appreciated last year!
Will bring mild reflex caul and associated clamps, heat gun, etc. Hopefully, will also remember to bring Dave's splitting maul and wedges.
Have interest in a t-shirt . . . . if promise to mis-spell Missouri again!
-
I will setup my popup and have enough rocks to keep things interesting. Prolly won't be able to work on a bow while im there, but should have some good looking staves. Also bringing rattler skins, deer horns, stone knives, ferro rods fire starters, a few bowls, and assorted goods. Need anything special, let me know.
-
No problem Knoll!
Scott, don't let me forget, I have a cool rock for you to chip away at.
I think Dave and I will have quite the setup this year. There will be lots of shade and plenty of libations!
Patrick
-
Will be good to see ya again, Scott.
-
Weather update. Looks about like mojam weather to me.

Patrick
-
Yep, that looks about normal for Mojam... ::)
-
Some been hotter, a lot hotter, and a couple been cooler, so, yep, about normal.
-
I'm bringing the usual. And I plan on getting there Saturday, hope there is still room
-
. . . I plan on getting there Saturday, hope there is still room
We'll rope off a spot for ya.
-
You might be able to squeeze in next to me Dave. But you will have to be a little close to the practice range. 😜
Patrick
-
I am setting up my tent on top of the ice trailer :o
-
That's cool with me John. As long as we can have back stage access.
Patrick
-
I'm offering to spray anyone with the hose to help cool them off.
-
I'm offering to spray anyone with the hose to help cool them off.
Heck, we'll all likely be soaked with sweat anyway... ::)
;) :D

Yep no air, air handler is heat only.
We requested parts in February and was told today that they would be available October 15th. Gotta love the corrupt system.
Patrick

I talked to the folks at Feathers-N-Wood and it looks like they will be there by Wednesday. Mostly they have arrow making supplies but he told me they hope to have some string making material if the shipment arrives in time.
Their teenage son is VERY excited and determined to make a bow while he's there . We should be able to accommodate his goal shouldn't we guys.. ? ;)
-
Absolutely Paul!
I'm really excited about the arrow making supplies. I need to make a bunch of them.
My friend Larry that makes the elk horn scrapers will be there on Wednesday night or Thursday morning. He is setting up a table with his 20 year old granddaughter.
Sounds like we might have a bigger turn out this year!
Patrick

Here is a sneak peek at a Franken bow I've been working on. Black locust/Osage with cocobola, black walnut, and English Walnut. And probably a piece of cow horn to. It might be a gift but haven't decided yet... ::)

Ok guy's, I have a small dilemma. My 9 year old nice will be coming in with my wife on Wednesday. I have her a little bowabut I don't have any kids arrows for her.
If anyone has any kids arrows that she could use I would be very gracious. I could trade some rawhide backing strips. If she could have a small handfull of arrows to keep. Thanks a bunch.
Patrick
-
I have some Patrick that my daughter outgrew. I'll bring them along Amigo.
Oh, and Happy Anniversary. :D
-
Nice Paul. I have a bunch that need points and stuff I'll have with me too. I can fix em up once the arrow sales people get there.
-

They are now in the "pack pile" that is, slowly, growing in the basement. :)

Yeah I did that with the first dozen Mike and they worked well .
It's likely the TXV Patrick. It's one of the new type HP systems and there may be some crud restricting the orifice. Parts are on order... ::) but the "good" news is it's still under warranty.
-
Dave was sooooo bummed out last year when there were 3-4 earlier-than-he last year!
-
Yes he was!
Mike the secondaries would be cool. She is a good kid.
I'll probably be there later in the day tomorrow. Might not leave till about 2 or 3.
Patrick
-
ok, will bring points and feathers tomorrow.
-
Sweet, thanks buddy!
Patrick
-
Almost ready to head out. Got to throw in some clothing and some personal items. Then a couple more odds and ends. I already loaded the kitchen sink so I don't have to worry about that.

Patrick
-
Dave's already makin' shavins, way cool, congrats.
I'm commencing the annual pre-MoJAM clean out of my vehicle, see what is left from last year and what needs to be packed or repacked or replaced. Wonder what I'll find this year, only time will tell.

Looks like the A/C here will be OK, for now, so the truck is in pre-load with final load out tomorrow. (Still got errands and such to run today and tomorrow .. ::) )
Wednesday arrival is looking plausible. :)
-
Stage 1 packing done, projects sorted. Just one day now. Leaving o dark thirty..
Looking forward to seeing everyone.
-

Bob
-
Projected (permitted ;)) wheels up is at 09:00 which, pending traffic in the KC area, should allow a lunchtime arrival.
Talked to Andy from Feathers-N-Wood and they are hoping to be in by Wednesday evening. Their son is pretty pumped up about building a bow. :)
Seeya'll soon. ;D
-
I have been delayed. :( My nephew RJ, my brother Nathan, and I should be there early on Saturday morning. We'll stay through Sunday lunchtime... Not what we had planned, but it'll be good to at least see everyone for a bit.

Don't forget the pics guys.
-
man... I was too busy having fun to take many pictures, but I did take this about 2:30 in the morning to send to Sal in California since he couldn't be there.... there's always a group of us that like late night shooting and he was usually part of it. :)
-
Looks like a lot of carbon in there for a primitive gathering ;)
Hope Dave wasn't laying there when they shot! Id like to think your smarter than that big Dave, but at 2:30 am all bets are off!
-
I took a bunch so it took awhile to get loaded. I had a great time visiting with family again this year. I met lots of people again and even learned a few things. I'd like to write an article for the magazine to show what a great time this event is. Thanks to Marshall bowhunters again and again for putting this in every year and letting me live there for a week! Anyway... here are some pics.

Great pictures Dave. Thanks for posting them.
A lot of familiar faces there... :)
-
I only got to be at MOJAM for about 36 hours this year, ...which was not even HALF as long as I needed to be there! At least I did get to make it there for a bit though.
Last year, several of us got together and decided that we needed to do something kewl for NoNose. He comes every year to MOJAM and spends something very near to all of his time there helping others learn to make a bow. He especially works with the newest bowyers and helps them get over the fear of messing up the project by telling everyone, "It's just a piece of wood".
Well, during MOJAM this year we gave NoNose a set of primitive gifts and tools. He was overwhelmed, but really appreciative of the Love and Respect the group demonstrated for him.
1] Patrick laid out a blanket to present the gifts on.
2] Dave gave him the bow in a pink sock.
3] NoNose opened the bow that several guys had teamed up to build together.
4] Patrick presented the Quiver he had made. It's Bamboo with Walnut slats custom fit to match it perfectly.
OneBow
...more pix coming shortly...
-
5] Neal (aka Patches) gave NoNose the arrows he had made for him. 3 primitive two fletches with knapped points, 9 triple bladed broad heads, and 3 field point arrows.
6]I presented NoNose with the large hand drum I made for him. My nephew RJ hand painted the eagle petragliph design on the drum face with leather dye.
Then Patrick presented NoNose with a Damascus steel skinning knife and sheath with a KingWood handle custom made by Devon, who could not make it up the MOJAM this year.
7] Somehow a spontaneous hug-fest broke out after that. It must be a Marine thing... 8) ;)
8] ...and then we got a group shot of all the guys there that were involved with making all these things for NoNose.
-
Great pictures and story guys! Looks like a fine bunch of bowyers at that event.
-
Yep, THAT'S what it's all about.
A fine bunch of gifts for a Great Guy from a bunch of other Great Guys.
-
Looks like a hell of a good time Guys................ I'm going to make that outing some day soon.

Another awesome mojam in the books!
This event has become very dear to my heart. I is something that I can bring my family to and they can enjoy meeting and getting to know the rest of my family.
I want to say a big thanks to the Marshall bow hunters for putting on mojam!
And another huge thank you to the guy's I camped with this year.
I got overly tied up down at the pavilion trying to help everyone I could and finishing up my trade bow. You guys stepped in and helped my wife and took care of camp. I don't know how to make it up to you guys but you know I will somehow.
Well we had a few mojammers not show up this year and they were missed. But we had some new faces to help fill the voids. There was even a family that came all the way from Denmark.
There was a lot of bows being built this year. At least 4 of them was first time bow builder's. They was from all different age groups to. One of my friends is in his 70's and I think the youngest first bow was my niece at 9 years old.
There was a lot of gifts given and received by several people. Several trade bows were hand delivered. And unfortunately I broke bowwoods(Chris) trade bow on my tiller tree. I was sick to my stomach. Then he said, I would rather have it break here than in my guys hand. I gave him my brand new HHB stave I just got so he could get going on his trade bow.
A group of us honored our friend James (nonose) with an overwhelming set of gifts. He has always selflessly helped everyone.
And then there was the weather, hot one day not to bad the next. Oh, and then there is the rain. Giant mud holes everywhere, it was so muddy at our camp that my wife went and got a few bales of straw. The guy's spread it all over the ground.
I will be posting several pictures later on. I know I'm rambling but my mind is still racing with all the excitement and fatigue of, MoJam.
Patrick

Thanks for the pictures and stories man I really miss you guys

Thanks for the pics guys.
-
Wow, I totally missed the "no shoes" rule. Sorry Keith...

Excellent Photos Guys -
Yep, MoJAM 2016 was excellent.
Outside of some rain, the temperatures were simply remarkable.
-
Many of Dave's pictures have great stories to go with them. But then he'd be writing a book.
Great 6 days and, not surprisingly, seemed over in wink of an eye!
Feel fortunate that can see many of this bunch regularly, but great to spend days 'n' days 'n' days together.
Can't wait for next year!

Great pictures everyone. Looks like a good time.

Here are a few pictures of a Kid's Bow that my nephew RJ made and then put on the auction/donation table. I think it turned out AWESOME. Goat raw hide backing decorated with hand drawn cave painting styled decoration, over Osage, with a small leather grip with a small feather that was found by a six year old tied into the lacing. It bends in the handle just a bit and draws about 20# at 20 inches. It measures at about 31 inches nock to nock.
I was very proud of RJ's craftsmanship in making this little bow and his generosity in donating it to benefit the MOJAM event.

NoNose looks VERY happy and surprised to get all those gifts. I love doing that kind of stuff. It all looks like great work fella's.
-
One of these years I'm going to make it to Mojam. It looks like a great event.
-
With all of us standing around, No Nose was a bit concerned when we asked him to sit down at the table... :D
Thanks again to Keith and the Marshall bowhunters for everything they did to make it happen.
Mo Jam was great again this year. Alot of old friends, several new friends, great food, was not too hot. Got to participate in the late night shoot for the first time. Only broke one arrow!
I would post my pictures....but the only ones I got were a couple crappy photos of the arrows I gave No nose. I did not get my camera out other than that.
I am looking forward to next years MoJam. Only 356 days (give or take a day or two) until next years!

Um still unpacking. It seems the heat normally reserved for mojam waited a week for us to have our fun. >:D
Clint I've got a spot reserved for you next year! It's like camper ally where we camp now. Lol
Heres some more pics.

Great pics, Dave, they captured some memorable scenes.
Kudos to musicians your music was outstanding.
Not often wool is worn at MoJAM.
Those heat gun forms were great. Looking over the one I did and it held shape well.

Looks like a heck of a week guys, can tell everyone was having a great time from all the smiles in pics. Some really nice items being crafted in those pics as well. Hope to get there one of these years and get in on the fun myself.

Come on down Greg! You will definitely have some fun!

Thanks Dave, you got some better pictures than I did.
Here is my new Beadman bow I bought on the Saturday night auction. The pics don't do it justice one bit. It's beautiful and fast with a smooth draw.

I think that picture was taken the night after I broke his trade bow on my tiller tree. Looks like the demon is coming out.
I can't take credit for all of the pictures, I think my wife used my phone for some of those.
Dave, Lainey said she was going to kick your butt for posting the pic of her turning up the Apple Pie!

Dave ~ now that's saving the best pic for last... :)
-
Great pictures Dave!
Marley looks like she had a great time!
Andy it was a pleasure meeting you and your family. I can't wait to see the great bow Wyatt makes.
Boy Dennis sure has a sweet bend on his first bow! I'm glad you posted that picture. He worked so hard on that bow. It would have been a shame if he didn't fire an arrow out of it.

Thanks Keith, I didn't know that I was being interviewed... ;)

Keith - thanks for the heads up for newspaper article on MoJAM.
Paul - hey guy, nice interview, guess that's another one for the scrapbook.
Keith, that's a pretty good newspaper/website you have up there. It's a lot easier to navigate than my local ones, the Tribune and the Journal.
Whew, I'm sure glad we didn't get our current weather last week.
