Here's my lastest bendy handle osage bow. It's 60" ntn, 1 3/8" wide at the handle, and 3/8" wide at the nocks. It pulls about 65# @ 28". I used medium brown leather dye to stain it. Strangely enough, medium brown dye plus yellow osage equals reddish-orange. The last pic is a preview of my next project. It's another California bow. It will be made in the style of the Maidu/Achumawi bows shown in TTBB1.

I like the color contrast pretty slick. The tiller looks to be right on. Great Job.

Really a nice looking primitive style bow. Good job on the tiller!
-
Wood loks nice with that finish. Great bow.

Thanks!

This is simular to one I want to build. Does she have a rounded belly or flat? With osage I think a rounded belly works best. That is what I had planned on.
The other bow is very cool. Will it be sinew backed? Another style for me to try. Pat

Two cool bows. I love that color on the stained osage. I wonder how it will look with some age on it?

Pat-Yes, the belly is somewhat crowned. The "project" will definitely be sinew backed.
J.D.-I have wondered that myself.

That is a good looking bow. I bet it is a smooth shooter. Justin

That bendy handle bow is way cool! The other is another project I'd like to try some day! Two geat bows!!

Nice bow, tiller looks great. Waiting for the second bow now. Steve

A nice Osage bow. Simple and a great tiller for this design. I love it.
What's about the second one ;D

Very nice bow. Jawge

Looks great, I like the short bow you are working on, I find them alot of fun to build. What kind of specs does it have?

The short bow is ERC heartwood, 1 7/8" wide at mid limb, 44" long overall. In the pic it has been pulled into 6" of reflex in preperation for sinewing. I will most likely use one thick layer of sinew, or two thinner ones, as I did on the last one I made.

nice bow! :)

Super job! Can't wait to see the next one, gonna be killer like your osage. What kind of draw length can you get with a bow that short?
-
Very nice, love the color. :)Great tiller also.

I'm shooting for about 22-24". We'll see how it goes!
