I had an email from a guy wanting a Yew warbow of more than 200# @ 32" from a 6' bow. I'm not interested. Anybody here want to have a go at it?
-
My shoulder just popped itself out of socket at the thought of that bow. Hats off to the men that can pull that off.
-
Must be one big dude with a heck of a chest and shoulder measurement >:D (SH) :NN. "Little" John, maybe? Me, I'm crazy, not dumb, as well as older and somewhat wiser ;D, well, I don't jump out of airplanes, anymore, at least.

72" seems rather short for that...?
-
I've got a really nice dry yew stave but.....I think my tillering tree might not like it :)
72 is too short in my opinion.
-
At 72" length and a 200+@32" draw, that's going to be absolute murder on the fingers.
Was he British? He might of been asking for a warbow that draws to 32" for £200...I'd like one of those. ;D

No an American and a very rude one at that, told me to F off for refusing the task
-
Urrrr.... Methinks possibly a no-neck meathead on steroids :D,
...never any need for rudeness, especially for such a tall order. ::)

Sounds like just another idiot... if he wants one, he can surely make it himself.
anyone who takes that on is just signing up for a load of trouble, probably from both bow and customer.

The length of the bow was an issue with me, can be done but to iffy, plus I just don't like making heavy weight bows anymore and 200+ lbs is heavy
-
The two people I know capable of shooting 200lb are also more than capable of making the bows themselves, and the two people I know working up to 200lb have bowyers on tap to make them as well.
Just give him a 2" x 2" with really nice horn nocks.
-
sorry you are treated that way after an honest response.
BTW, does "american" still mean "not canadian", but from that other big country in north america? ;)
-
I edited my previous post to read don't like.
American as in USA

Sorry about that. That's even worse than when I asked you for 40 arrows or something, when I had no idea of anything..
-
A rude ah is still a rude ah no matter where they maybe from! Marc, my apologies that this one was from our area. Does anyone really pull a 200# bow? Or is this some ah macho thing?

Joe Gibbs likely would (he's done 190# iirc), but he's very nice and humble.
-
Joe can, quite comfortably. There's videos of him shooting 210lb, and he'll use a 190lb for a day's roving. There's a guy in Norway who also can, and like Joe he's more than capable of making them at that weight too.
I think there's one or two guys in the States who can as well, but I'm not sure if they're shooting any more.
Now that more and more people are pushing well over the 150lb, 160lb mark it won't be long before there's a good handful of them shooting 200lb.

I'm afraid that one escapes my memory. I hope there were no bad feelings

No, not at all. It was from 8/17/15.
