Those are really sweet...and it is chilly, they say it'll be 14 tonight...in Dallas.  Who'd a thunk?  The wind's made my pool skimmer look like some weirdo ice sculpture.  Must be gonna get real cold over Mike's way.

I hear ya, this is only my fourth Texas "winter".  But I love it down here, for the hog hunting as much as the mild winters.  I do miss the ice fishing.  Anyway, I still think those are beautiful points Cowboy.

Thanks guys! I'm starting to get my head wrapped around this stuff again. Yeah, I couldn't hardly believe I could knock that many out till I broke one. Here's the one that shut me down. Was trying to put a new base on it...

Haha, you guys are going to make my head swell up - hope I can get that hat on ::). Well, it's still cold out there, both trucks are dead and the power is out. I may have to cave man it again today ;D.

Have you got the same rolling blackouts we're getting in DFW today?  Last one happened just after I got my servers powered back up and on-line.  Good grief.  If it does it again I'm going to man cave it too.  Should've stayed home.  ::)

I've been at it somewhere around six, seven, maybe eight years? Pretty much took the last couple of years off..
Yup, George. Power is on and off this am - mostly off. Had time to make about half a cup of coffee :(. Your over around Lake Lavon area? We're probably not 50 miles apart..

Dang Cowboy , that is just amazing. It'd take me half a day to make a point like that short obsidian point, much less so many. You gotta skill for sure. What rock is the gray stuff ?  All Beautiful work  '  Frank

Thanks Frank! That's Georgetown blue, don't know why they call it blue cause it mostly is gray but works great. You should have a box of it on your doorstep pronto :).

Beautiful work!  If I quit when I broke one, I'd probably never get a point made...  :'(  I might have to try that method though - at least the finished ones would be the size of yours instead of bird points.   ::)

At home we're lucky and have not had any outages, but our power comes from Greenville.  Not so at work, we had at least 4 this morning.  Yes, we're not that far apart.  I need to bribe you for some knapping lessons, those points are great.  Heck, that broken one would go on one of the bamboo shafts I'm fighting to straighten just fine.  I wouldn't mind tagging along on a flint run if you want company some time.

Better send this before power drops out again.

George: I'd be more than happy to go on a rock run with you or anybody else anytime I can - seems like I'm ALWAYS hauling them rocks by myself ;). A little knapping session is always welcome too.. Thanks everybody for the comments :). Did a few side notchers today. Didn't have that much time - was rounding up firewood, jumping off the trucks, cold weather stuff etc...

No can part with the red stuff. Got that in a trade awhile back with Pete. Not Pete C. but the other Pete, haven't seen him around in awhile. That's actually tile and I only have two peices left :).

Thanks Pappy! I only wasted a couple of drops :D. She doesn't shoot it much, usually only when I mention it. She's getting all excited about going back to TN though :).

Paul, that red stuff is tile?  I guess you can't get it at the local depot store?

Very cool stuff.  Really admire the way you are able to make the long, slender blades!

The red stuff looks like what was jokingly called 'Crawforite' around here. A small gas station in Crawford NE was being torn down and some guys salvaged some red and white tiles from the building.

Yep, Patrick - it's tile. I would'nt know where to find it but also would'nt mind finding a bunch of it, maybe I can find an old gas station being torn down ;D. You might check out tile stores I would imagine it's out there - prolly high dollar tile. Here's the last remaining two..
