Title: A few recent ones
Post by: Hillbilly on December 01, 2008, 07:36:06 pm: Haven't had much knapping time lately, but here's a few I've knocked out in the last couple months. Several of them are on their way to new homes. :) Not the best photo. The rhyolite Savannah River in the middle is about 6 1/2" long for scale. Everything in there from rhyolite to obsidian, dacite, quartz, quartzite, Knife River, Coastal Plains, Flint River, Fort Payne, Keokuk, Pedernales, and coral.

Post by: Hillbilly on December 01, 2008, 07:50:12 pm: David, that would be a Kirktail- somewhere between a Kirk and a dovetail.:) Jonathan, yep, wood and hammerstone on the rhyolite and quartzite, hammerstone and antler percussion on the rest. I usually use a smalll copper flaker or a horseshoe nail for notching. Bob, nope, I can halfassed make all of them, but none of them really good.
