Can anyone tell me how much good quality osage staves typically sell for at some of the traditional archery shoots in the midwest? I have accumulated more than I will ever use, and would like to sell some of it, but don't want to mess with shipping, so I have been thinking about taking some to some of the shoot here around Ohio. Thanks.

$15, I'll buy one. ;D

At OJAM in Oklahoma last March, a guy had a truck load of 6' Osage staves with the rings chased for 55.00 ea. If that helps. Phil

I've seen straight staves 6' long with the sapwood and bar still on for $65.

It's a weed! $10 a stave! I'll take 50!!!! ;D

I've bought one stave. It was at OJAM two years ago - nice clean osage and $20.00.

If you've removed the bark and sapwood, sealed the ends and back, seasoned it for a couple of years, and the stave is straight clean and has good growth rings, its worth at least $50 and maybe as much as $80 if its really nice.
Bark on, sealed ends and cut last year, $30-50 depending on what it looks like.
It ought to be worth more considering the amount of work it represents.

I have bought a few that were 2.5"X 2.5" X 70" for about $30-$40. That is after they chased a ring and sealed the ends and back. I wouldn't give you a wooden nickle for one with bark still on it since every one I got that way was garbage from grubs, cracks or rot. :'( Justin
