Title: knaping slabs

  See if this helps any. The first picture shows a well ground edge.Next I run a series of short flakes and then grind them down. This starts making it Ovate.Grind the edge again, and then run another set of flakes on top of the first set. But push harder this time.Then repeat the same procedure on the other edge and the flakes meet up inthe middle

thanks Mullet this did help alot :) 
I am having trouble with hinging on my last couple points but now I see i do it totally wrong.

 Sorry about the pictures, I think I took about 30 because of the bright sun and the glare.

Eddie:  That helped me.  I've always had a hard time starting any material with a "square" edge, be it glass, obsidian, or Johnstone.  Does the flat pressure flaker help too?

 Mike, the flat flaker helps me run wider flakes.I just take a hammer and flatten the tip and then clean it up with a file. If I want to run thinner flakes I just turn it on edge and do the same starting notches. I have pointed ones but tend to use the flat one more.

Is the rubber you used available to public i have worn out a few that i made and would like to find a more durable material.

 Redwasp, not that I know of. I found it in our lab at work and comodeered it. I cut the slots and glued it to the wood.
