How's your lovely wife doing? :) She let you shoot that bow yet? >:D
-
Ryan, Maw is doing pretty good, I marked up the dates for the Shoots I want to go to and she said that it would be just fine. Are ya talking about that beautiful bow that you made and put on a raffle at last years shoot, and she WON, every time she see's a bow in my hand she asks if it's her bow that Ryano made. HER BOW, HER BOW, A man can only take so much. She shows my friends HER BOW that she WON. Ryan I'm kinda thinking about a Character bow kinda Gnarly and maybe made from a vine maple, if you hear about something like that please let me know first.
Yea, I guessed you'd hang that monster rack on your living room wall. (Pope & Young)
-
Dang Charlie, stealing the wife's bow.....I'm going to have to have a talk with her. >:D
That vine maple bow isn't even tillered yet Charlie. Your just going to have to wait. I do occasionally keep a bow for myself you know. LOL.... :D

Glenn, I don't know about the spam.......... :P ::) ;D
-
Ryan & Pappy Maw is bringing her Black Iron Cookware that she wants to play with, when we were at Compton last year she saw some other campers having fun with their primitive cooking stuff. sooooooo I hooked up with a blacksmith that was selling all kinds of Iron equipment, CHA-CHING he saw me comming!!!
So please don't bring any cooking equipment, this thing also has a adjustable height grate, some swing in and out dudads that I don't know what they do either. but you will know. she said that she would put something together for Friday night , she said that it won't be Buffalo, Moose, Tiger, Zebra, Monkey but it should be good and enough to fill tired travelers. So you'll half to take a chance. She said that she would give Ryan the signal to blow that four foot cow horn, (I kinda faked her out on sizes, I think? ) She said to thank Ryan also for the firewood, so thanks !!
Charlie
-
Sounds good Charlie. ;D We are also having a fish fry at the club house Friday night. My father in law love to fish and has a whole freezer full. He said he'd come by and cook some up for us. We're just going to ask for donations to cover the cooking supply's and condiment's and such.... ;D
-
Ryan, New plan, Let's eat fish Friday night and we will pick a different time Maw said we would play it by ear, she said she could bring a large Slaw for a side if that will work?
Charlie
-
Sounds good to me Charlie. Thanks.... ;D
-
Holy moly! Good food and good friends to eat with. Now life can't get much better. Wish Mark and Dana was coming from the UP. :)
I had some help from Pappy putting cocobola tips on the bow. It's good now, except I gotta get me a string for it now. I borrowed one of Pappy's tillering strings and now I need one for it to fire a few arrows with. :)
See ya sometime Friday noon time or such.
John
-
Thanks Ryan, all is on schedule for now.See yall in a few days.
Pappy
-
Ryan,
I was putting together directions for a friend. I googled the address and it took me off on Peach Street to a Moore Rd in Waterford (10-12 miles off the 90). There was a West Moore road (~ 6 miles) closer to the highway that is accessible from 97 (exit 27) as well. That is the right road, correct?
Thanks,
Glenn
-
Yes Glenn, its the closer moore rd. The other one is about a mile down the road from my house. So now you know about how far I live from the club.
Sounds sweet Jon, can't wat to see it!
Sounds great Pappy. See ya soon!
-
Wow, this sounds like a lot of fun! I wish I had more time to get away for these events. I can remember when it was only Marshall MI. and Cloverdale to go to in the Midwest. One of these years ;) Take care and have fun!
Tracy
-
Tracy, hope you can make it next year ! We have a great time. It's people like all of you that make this shoot.... ;D
-
Ryano, do you have a number address on Moore Rd. for the club House, I also want goggle the directions just in case I get lost from Pappy going up. Brother Dan
-
Ryan, Maw and Me will be leaving tomorrow morning, I thing it is about a five and half hour drive, give me a heads up if there are any changes, don't want to screw anything up. if it would be better if we came Thursday that's OK too. I guess I'm always too anxious, it's a great shoot and we are supposed to have great weather. Charlie
-
Pappy an Jon , I think maybe you lucked out , we had our extra heavy frost on Mon and Tues. supposed to warm up rest of week. It was 27 deg. Monday morning Froooooooooooooooosty. Seeyou guys Friday evening. Later Bob
-
Here you go Dan. http://www.pifieldarchers.com/Map.html
564 moore rd. Gps usauly tells you to turn the wrong direction at the end of moore road so disreguard that and follow the signs at the end of the road.
-
See ya soon Charlie.
-
Ryan,
How is the mud and the bugs? It has been dry here so I expect the same there, but the warm temps might bring out the black flies.
We are leaving Friday afternoon as soon as Kiersten and I get home friom school. See you around dinner.
Glenn
-
Glenn, the course is about as dry as it gets.... ;) There are a few black gnats but nothing compared to up at Hawkeye the last couple years.
-
Cool Beans! We are just about loaded up. I made up a few quivers and have a great recipe for pernil (Carribbean Pork), inspired from our last vacation for the camp feast MMmmmm.
See you soon.
Glenn
-
Pappy, I've been here now going on two days, the weather is just beautiful and the camp sight is in great shape, we have your spot saved between Me and Ryan wheather you like it or not!!!
Ryan and the crew here has your firewood pile close by. All I can say is the SMOOKER ROUND will be a challenge , your going to have a blast, I'll get back with the rest of the story later.
Chuck
-
Brother Dan and I just got back to Cincinnati from the 4th Annual Presque Isle shoot. What a great time! Everyone and everything about this club will make us look forward to coming again next year.
Congratulations Ryano, you have a good thing going with your club, can't say enough about the hospitality we received from everyone we met. Keep it up, you have a winner!
Steve
-
Thanks Steve. ;D I'm just glad y'all enjoyed your selves, we'd be glad to have you back next year! I just hope Pappy caught up on his sleep some today. He was looking pretty warn out. I think he needed a vacation from his vacation. ;D
-
Ryan, Pat, Fletch, Jim, Dr. Jared, and many others including Madam President that was putting a woopin on the food department with the help of other guys and gals. I couldn't ask for better target layouts, except for the first target in the Smoker Round that smoked me. The weather was the great, so I can't think how the shoot could be any better. Hanging out with Pappy, John, Steve and Dan the (turd hurder) Maw and Me are still laughing, I hope that everyone can make it next year. I pray that everyone had a safe trip home. Maw and Me did have a little trouble on our way back, we had a flat on the truck on the Turnpike going back to Michigan, since we had a flat on our trailer last year when we were on our way to the shoot, we kinda wonder if that is an omen, both vehicles has almost new tires, Go Figure. I guess I didn't win the Ryan bow, but he is working on one that just might live with me. Lets see 364 days left, heck that ain't long..
I'll try to load some pictures later. and again thanks to all the Dudes and Dudeets.
Maw and Me ( Chuck & Rusti )
-
What a great time, thanks Ryan,Pat and all the put this together.I had a great time and hope yall done good for the club. See yall soon. :)

Ryan, thanks again for a great shoot, me and Steve enjoyed ourselves, we'll be back next year. Chuck and Maw, thank you also for letting us share your campsite with you. Chuck, if you could down load the pictures you got from me, i would be grateful, I haven't learned how to do that yet. You know the picture that has to be posted? Everybody will get a kick out of that. Great times, great food, and great new friends, can't get any better than that.
Pappy and John, it was great hanging out with you too, Made a few notches up the line with Pappy, as Steve and Bear are going down. Brother Dan

Bro Dan, Your wish is my comand. A picture of the infamous Pappy Baggett sleeping, How can that be ???? Dan you deserve a lot of credit, very few if any can catch Pappy sleeping. You be da man !!! Last year I got one of him coming out of his Barbie tent. I also have one of him on my camera I'll post later. Charlie

-
Dan you just lost a few slots on my list. Man I was out of it. ;) ;D
Pappy
-
Pappy, I can't believe you stayed up so late Friday night, you kept saying you were going to bed, then you would say one more. I knew you were worn out when you crashed Saturday night after supper. Hey, I closed your tent up while you were sleeping, or you would have got rained on, that should have move me up a couple of slots but if not the picture was worth it. I wish I could find another picture of you that Bubba took at Cloverdale a few years back drinking a Budweiser, but I think you threw the only one in the fire. You got to admit, those are some classics.
Chuck, you need to put up the rest of the pictures. Brother Dan
-
Dan you just lost a few slots on my list. Man I was out of it. ;) ;D

-
You know where that coon fur on that quiver came from don't ya charlie? ;D
-
Ryan, I'm scarred to ask !! Your not going to tell me that Dolly treed that coon are ya ? or what part of the coons anatomy the fur came from ? You said that I was scarred when we went coon hunting ! NOT So ! I was just a little nervous at 11 o'clock at night in a big ole black woods 350 miles from Michigan, one foot in a creek and the other in a poisen Ivy patch with brush hitting me in the face and you turning the light out all the time and Dolly trying to find that stupid ole coon.. Did I mentioned it was DARK ???
-
LoL.... :D Nervous, scared, whats the diferance....So let me know when you want to come down to go coon hunting this fall ! ;)
Yep, thats from one of the coons I tanned this winter and traded to Chris for his quivers.
-
I think that it's all becoming very clear now, My first coon hunt with Ryan, Ryan shoots the coon that's fur is on my new quiver, Ryan's friend Chris made the quiver that I bought, and also made a couple mountain knifes last year for me.. Ryan, Chris, Me, by Jove I think I've got it now ? WERE BLOOD BROTHERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I think it is more like Cha ching brothers. ;) ;D ;D ;D By the way Ryan ,who won the bow ,know it wasn't me,just wondered if it was at least someone I knew. ;D
Pappy
-
