I finally got it done.
Made from a red oak board from Home Depot. 70" tt, 56# at 28". I got the handle a little thin so I glued on a piece in front and ended up with a semi reverse handle arrangement. It's backed with strips from a silk scarf donated by my wife. Finished with Tru Oil. It shoots really smooth with no hand shock at all. This has been a long time coming and I couldnt be happier! I've learned a lot from you guys since I've been coming here. Thanks to all!

Looks very nice :)! Very interesting riser section too.

Hey congratulations! Feels good doesn't it? ;D
-
very nice looking bow, tiller looks good.
one question though, why did you find it neccassary to add that piece of wood to the back of the handle?
was it just a comfort thing or did it feel like it was bending and you didnt like that?
just curious ???
either way,it looks good, nothing real fancy but thats how i like them.

I took the inset part of the handle in pretty far and it felt to me like it was bending a little so after all the time I had in it I wanted to be safe rather than sorry. I know it looks weird but I have really big hands anyway and it fits well. I still have to cover it in leather and do the arrow shelf but I just wanted to show it off. I cant wait for judo point time!

ya i have yet to get used to the feel of a bendy handle, most my bows that i make have a little bit of a riser like that too.unless the person i am going to give it
to asks for a thinner one.i like the feel of a bigger handle, been wrenching for so long now its hard to feel the smaller handles to know if i have a good grip on them, and sometimes this old mechanic hands just dont want to close that far either lol.

Good looking bow, I like that different riser, it adds appeal and a bit of your own self to the bow, well done.
