In the close-up pics of the knots, we are looking at the belly, correct? If this is so, and you have not cut into the ring on the back, you bet your bass they'll hold.

Just try while you tiller to let it bend a little less through the knots and it should be fine. :)

With hickory those knots should be no problem. I would soak the knots on the belly with super glue but that is just me. I have made a few hickory bows with knots under the back ring and never had a problem.   Pat

I think you'll be fine. You did the right thing by leaving extra wood around them.

Yes, you did a nice job on the lay out. Keep in mind when tillering knots you should not let the knotted areas bend too much. They should appear flat and then pick up the bend after the knot. Jawge

I think I busted through a ring when I was sanding the back. The ring must be paper thin right there b/c I was lightly sanding with fine sand paper not really bearing down much at all. Take a look and see what yall think, I know hickory is very forgiving so I hope this wont hurt it cause I really aint wanting to chase a ring on this knotty stave.

Yes you did, :( the rings are really thin over the top of most knots,It would have been better
if you hadn't done that but it will probably still hold.If it was anythin but Hickory I would say no.
If it was mine I would probably still back it with rawhide or something. Not worth taking the
chance. :)

The limb shouldn't bend as much were you have knots - so it should be alright.
