Post by: casper on February 20, 2009, 02:38:13 am
hi. i just pulled up about a dozen 40plus year old yew post from my place. the part in ground was rotted but the rest is beutifull . very hard wood. my question is. will this make good bows or are they to old and hard. i know i can make risers and such from them. they are anywhere from 7 ft to 5 ft long 6 to 10 inches wide very hard solid wood. thanks for any advise.

old yew is good yew  ;D.
Build bows - in the past yew was often dried several years.
Maybe we can get some pics?
