;D The last day of bunny season was today here in Wyoming. Josiah and I went back into the badlands and chased the fleet footed warriors around while Stacey took pics of the fun. Josiah finally connected on a bunny with the bow Wolf Watcher traded Whitewoodshunter for.. Lots of action and managed to harvest quite a few.. Hope you guys aren't sick of bunny hunting pics yet... ;D ;) I am pretty proud of my little hunting partner, and of Staceys great captures of the hunt.. hope you all enjoy.. Hawk a/ho

Great!! I always love the tales and photos of your posting, keep them coming!!!
Thanks for your time.
Oh, and WELL DONE Josiah!!!!!!

hawkbow, the only thing I wish for more than your bunny season being longer in Wyoming, is for mine to be longer here in KY. I love see you're all's hunts. And I absolutely love Stacey's images. I'm a photographer but most of the bunnies I photograph only have two legs. :o I need to develope better outdoor/hunting photographic skills.
-
Was helping brand some cattle and missed all the action! Really love the pictures, especially the one of the bunny and the arrow! :o Glad that Josiah was able to have success with his new bow!! :) Now what I would like to see is Hawk with the camera and Stacy with the bow! She can shoot!!! Joe

The pictures are wonderful, and congrats to Josiah for breakin' in his new bow.God Bless
-
Way to go Hawk keep that young man in the wild and out of trouble this country could use a few more father figures like you.Tell the young man well done. Very nice photography.Ronnie

wow great job guys. nice hunting. good shot through the head! save some for us! a/ho!
-
Congrats Josiah, Mike and Stacy. Great shooting by everyone and a great outing. No we never get tirwd of good hunting and shooting stories and pictures.
-
Thanks brothers of the bow.. Josiah always reads these threads.. and your encouragements concerning the hunt really helps keep such a young hunter motivated, especially while hunting fast bunnies with primitive equipment.. Hawk.. a/ho

If Josiah's shot is any indication of his future...look out wildlife! excellent shot Josiah!!! That bunny didn't go far!
And Stacy's shots are equally as impressive. I too love seeing and reading ya'll adventures. Keep 'em coming! 8)

Thanks Pat, the medicine arrow you gave me sure seems to have some good mojo ;D I have been successful on every hunt since i got it.. stay cool brother .. Hawk
-
Seems another Medicine arrow is warranted. ;) the next one a tad shorter!!!
-
Awesome as always Hawkbow. Nice work at tagging a bunny there Josiah and Stacey, my oh my you are great with that camera!
-
Thanks Barrage,Wolf Watcher wasn't kidding .. she is just as good with a bow as she is with that camera, I try to discourage her from hunting because she shoots way better than me :'(.. she took a four by five mule deer the first year she ever hunted :o... I killed thirty deer with a longbow before I ever got a four by five anything...Pat, I think Josiah would be doing backflips if he had one of your arrows in his quiver...he is sure addicted to shooting his bows, he is one of the few kids his age who would rather shoot and ride horses than play video games..Hawk

-
Great pics Hawkbow as always - thanks for sharing ;)

Hawkbow, you need to start hunting something else that's open season in Wyoming--praire dogs, stalings, anything we need our weekly photo fix.
-
Hawk,
I think small game hunting is the best, hands down. Lots of action, plenty of shot opportunities, and loads of fun, too. Fantastic photos by Stacey, as always. She must have a really good zoom lens to be getting shots of wildlife that close, especially the one of the miss. Unless she is such a master stalker that she can get within 6 feet of those little rabbits and get photos of them. If that's the case, I think she better put down the camera and pick up a bow!
-
She has a really big zoom lens Billy, but she is also extremely patient in waiting for the shot... I have seen her wait for hours, day after day for a picture of a certain deer or elk .. etc... and she won't quit until the picture is taken. When we are out hunting sometimes the fun gets put on hold while she sets us up for the shot.. Nothing tries my patience more than standing twenty feet from a bunny waiting for her to stalk around and set up for the shot. But it is cool when she gets the picture to share with fellow brothers of the bow. Hawk

Way to go Josiah!!!! I am so proud my bow is a killer. Good shooting and hunting.

Hawk-
Love to see these pics! As usual your wife did a GREAT job capturing the action!
My little boy starts school this fall....and momma has finally gave me clearance to take him along! Boy is he ever excited!
I am making him up a little osage bow from a piece of wood that Saw Filer sent to me some time back......June we have a 2 week squirrel season....so needless to say I and my new hunting buddy will be scaring the acorns off'n the skrills with our near misses!
-
hawk, your hunting partner is better than me. i cant hit a bunny for anything. looks like yalls are a little easyer to find than mine though. cource im huning in louisiana. bout to just go shoot nutria. got plenty of them. gotta learn how to shoot from a canoe though. what was the average range yall were stickin those at?
-
usually the shots are at fifteen to twenty yards, but some are as close as six feet if you sneak really good... the thing with hunting bunnies on the high plains is you may have to walk miles and miles to find them.. thay are in only in certain areas.. and they are mostly running shots.. happy hunting Hawk..
-
i see. well, my compliments to you and him. yall are great shots.
