Title: pretty good winter's work
Post by: DirtyDan on March 23, 2009, 07:17:12 pm
My new friend Doug Bell and I had a lot of fun this winter.  Pictured are some of the bows we made together this winter.  There are six more bows that we made for Doug's grandkids, and eight more kids' bows that we are finishing to have ready for the North Georgia Flintknapping and Primitive Arts Festival where Doug and I will have a booth.  Most of these bows are hickory self bows made from saplings we cut, but there are some other types, including two bamboo on bamboo r/d bows.  Two old retired guys can fling some sawdust in a warm shop in the winter!

Hickory selfbows can sure fling an arrow well.

My daughter's thirty pound Hickory can
fling arrows better than my forty pound laminate. :( :)

It is nice to know your shop is warm in the Winter.

I hope your booth works out well and you can
set a few more archers on the road to success.

Looks like you've been busy planting bow seeds all winter, and got a nice harvest. :) Excellent looking pile-o-bows.

You bet, provided they want to crank anyone or all to full draw.
