i have a really small copperhead skin, not large enough for a whole limb of my short bow, but i was thinking about putting on a 1 or 2 inch ring of it every 3 inches or so up the back of the limbs. do yall think this would work?

-
I think it would work fine.  Just do it like you would a whole skin.  If you have not done snake skins before check out the build along section.  Gordon's Hazelnut build along has great info on applying skins.

maybe two short pieces from the handle outwards with binding where they end...  ???

 Chris  ;)

i already have sinue rap around mid limb to hold down a splinter and another on the other limb to make it look uniform, so that could work.  ;)

One of the community bows we built had a short section of coral snake skin at the last few inches of the tips-it looked good.

-
I like the idea.  Do it and post some pics!

wow that dose look really nice. i'll think on it some more and show yall what i end up with. thanks fellas.

How about cutting skin in half lengthways and doing a loose spiral wrap full length up the stave, so as to look like the snake is climbing the limbs.  Two snake heads on the tips would really complete the look.

:o that would look extreamly cool, but the skin is only like a foot long. aint got enough to do that. will try it with a longer skin one day though.

Try to get a full Rattlesnake skin.  Rattle on lower tip and head on upper tip.  Now that I think of it....I might try that >:D

dont see so many rattlers any more. mostly copper heads and watter moccasins. ALOT of water moccasins.
