This was my first try at building a red oak board bow. The whole process went pretty good but after I got it tillered, it came out around 32#. It is 68" tip to tip, can I cut each limb down a bit and bring the weight up. If so, how much can I cut it down and how much weight will I gain. I draw 27" so a shorter bow isn't a problem.

You should be able to cut 4 inches off with no problem,Not sure on red oak but most I do will pick up 2 -3 lbs per. inch. :) Congrats on you first. :)

congrats! as pat said, 2" from every limb is reasonable, but you'll need a good tiller to archieve this. If you're not sure, better make another!
