I was in a small creek full of geodes this past weekend looking for some monroe chert and found some larger, broken geodes. The cortex was 1/2" thick and solid through. I picked up a hammerstone and knapped an edge that was extremely sharp and resembled milky quartz. Anyone ever try making points or tools from geodes? Thanks,
Tracy

Would like to see pics of what you are talking about. If you got a sharp edge, I would try and work a point or tool out of it.

Yeah, the family was with and I didn't even think to take the camera. I will the next chance I get to go wandering again. I have found some pieces in the creeks int he past that resemble this material but not 100%.
