I tryed my best to teach Mike how to make a wooden bow.
He surely did a real good job.
The bow is 66'ntn, 50 # @ 27 " slightly bendy handle
shoots excepionally well and fast

-
Nice, looks like he's had alot of influence from his teacher :). I like it (especially that leather handle)!
-
Really nice for the first, the tenth or the 75th, that's for sure!
Rise looks nice!
What's the backing??
-
Great bow Mike!! Is that stacked leather on the handle? Looks nice.
BTW, great job of teaching Manny.
-
As far as i know mike has no internet, I'll let himmknow about your comments, will give himmthe web adress to so he might check the board out
yeah the handle is stacked leather, since the bow is sligthly bending it seemed a good choice, the backing is 2 layers of cotton, pretty bad grub damage on the back made us go that way,.......it's time to give credit to cotton as a backing I think , the bow has retained 1" of reflex and the cotton kept splinters down enought to not let the bow blow, that's where the upper limbs wrappings are
-
I like the coarse lacing on the grip, I can almost feel my fingers around it from here :).
Nice...
Del
-
doesn't it look a bit hinged there?
-
Radius, you really need to get some glasses ::) I don't see a hinge in the full draw picture.
-
radius, look carefully on the progression from unbraced, braced than full draw,.....those caracter staves, espetially up and down caracter might look like they hinge in certain critical spots, but you gotta go back and compare all the stages :)
-
Yeah I really like it,especially for a first bow,really like that handle...Hammertime
-
i see no hinges
just simply a beautiful first bow
-
just gave mike the web adress, I'm sure he'll appreciate the compliments, hope to see him get out there and make more, hopefully he will
-
I see what Radius means, midway between the black binding on the upper limb, maybe not a hinge, but I wouldn't take any timber off there!
Del
-
Looks great he's obviously in good hands! lol. NOT HINGED.
GREAT BOW.
Mike

-

-

-
I don't see a hinge in that bow either . My glasses aint that good though from sand paper dust on em,and not cleaning properly.
-
