Earlier this summer, my 10-yr old asked for a bow dyed just like one of mine. So, I made him this scaled down version. It's osage, 49" long, and draws 26# @ 22". When I asked him what he wanted to name it, he exclaimed, "Mini Me, like that little dude who looks like Dr. Evil in Austin Powers." I laughed and said, "OK", and penned it on. The first time we tried it at the range, he took a couple of warm up shots at 10 yds and then walked over to the 40 yard butt. I cautioned, "Hey bud, why don't you get yourself dialed in at the close targets before trying the longer stuff?" The words no sooner left my mouth than his arrow left the bow and screamed into the center of the target. As nonchalantly as can be, he said, "OK dad, beat that." To prevent embarassing myself too badly with details, I'll just say that he did better than me. Later we had some fun taking pictures and shooting for distance. 105 yards uphill.

Now, thats just cool. I can't wait for a few years until my boy can shoot with me. Yazoo sent me a stave for a 50" bow to work on.

You sure did a fine job matching his bow to yours! You also did a good job teaching your son shooting technique I'd say. Way to go dad! ;)
