Title: A new one (full draw added)
Post by: knightd on August 16, 2009, 09:11:55 pm
Here is a little bow I built a few weeks ago.. It is a BBI  56" NTN 40# at 26" just flat out fun to shoot.. The handle is shedua, kings wood and hickory..

Very nice. That shedua is some cool looking wood. I don't need to see a full draw on that one. I can tell by the braced view. Great work as usual.

once again a beauty David, although i doubt that's a surprise to anyone here :)
I've noticed you've been exploring designs other than your usual, and the results are always fantastic
don't you ever mess anything up? i mean when is the last time you broke one on the tree? ???

Another gorgeous bow David!  I need to get off my butt and finish both of the blanks I got from you for my kids.  All they need, pretty much, is some tru-oil.  Once again, nice job!

David, what is your secret for keeping the handle from popping off?  The power lam?  Or just shaping the handle to the Reflex after you glued up?

David , hate to barge in But I do have a question. Do you think 55@ 26 is a bit to much for a 60 NTN core bow?  I cut about 2 inches off the one I Got so I could get a little bigger tipoverlays on, tiller still looks great and Havent seen any chrysals yet. I just noticed that most of the shorter blanks are a lower poundage thats why I'm asking.
I'm still amazed by the speed and accuracy of your Blanks. Thanks Phillip

AKAPK .. The reason that most of the ones you see me post are light weight is becausse I have been building them for my wife trying to find one she really likes.. To answer your ? There are alot of My bows the same design as the one you have that are 57" to 58" ntn 50# to 60# being drawn to 29/30" I would say you are just fine with the one you have..  ;)

I showed my brother in Juneau pics of some of your bows. He's an old woodworker and was impressed. Gun nut, though, not into bows.
Bookmarked, too!

David your work is very impressive. I'm the guy from Spartanburg you met at Pats and Bohica from PP.

Im about to start one for this years hunt but was wondering how thin you cut your cores. I usualy just leave it board thickness but would like to glue in the curve like you do yours.     Thanks again...beautiful work
