I like the color too pappy!!does kinda grow on you !!!!nice looking bow :)

The Tennessee state flower is the Iris...Haley likes purple Iris's, and that influenced her decision for the bow's color...that and she wanted something different. I'd say she accomplished that! :) It really is a nice bow, and she did a lot of the work on it herself like Pappy said...we were all impressed with how she stuck with it.

That reminds me, i need to find an archery club, and join it.

Hey guys this is Haley. Thanks for all the great comments on my bow. I did have lots of help from people like Pappy and GregB, but I'm proud to say I did most of the work myself! ;D Now I just can't wait to start chasin growth rings!

NICE bow!!!!! My fiance wants a purple bow so I guess now I will have to make her one. Really nice for a first but then again she had the "Elite Tennessee Team" helping her!! ;D ;) :)

If I only had known!! Happend to chase 1/4" of rings on a yew stave this past weekend; I would have LOVED to leave that up to someone else! >:D >:D >:D

Great bow Haley!! ;). My daughter hunts with one I built her,but I can't get her to build her own :P Good job, and God Bless
-
Haley's pretty determined when she gets her mind set...when she first started shooting the string popped her arm a couple of times and raised a good welp, she just shook it off and kept at it. Can't keep a good girl down! ;)
-
Very nice Job! ;D That's a great looking bow and you have some great teachers down there....

Nice job Haley!

Nice looking bow, Congrats on the build. That handle wrap is outstanding.
-
haley, i was just wondering what the age of the wood was and if you had very much string follow to occur? i like the bow design very much. it is really a nice looking bow.
-
Luke I can answer that for you,the wood was Hickory cut in 04 and don't have any string follow.
she put about 2 inches of reflex in it to start with and after shooting it,it is flat. After resting about 30 min. it holds about 1/2 inch of reflex. We told her from the start she had to keep it dry and she did a good job doing that. I think she put about 10 coats of sealer on it.Several Tru oil and then several more Polly. :)

David, you did good matching that iris color with her bow color...pretty sure that's a good example of what inspired her color selection. :)

That is a nice looking bow, very nice job and have fun. Kenneth
