Ian_Johnson stopped in today and pulled my newest bow aa couple of times. It is 60", something over 50# at 26" and Ian was pulling it 27" on my request just to "prove" the bow. It is Osage/Osage?hickory with a hickory handle build up. I had him draw it three times to make up for not always posting full draw pics in the past. Ian has WAY LONGER ARMS THAN I DO, so he can really stretch a bow string. I'll try to get some portraits and close ups ASAP. ( portraits of the bow, not Ian......I can't afford a new camera right now. :) :))

Oh, yeah.......two of the shots were in the violin shop. No worries mate......just draw the bow and make sure you don't release the arrow!!

Really nice job on the bow, but being a fiddler I couldn't get my eyes off all those violins.

Mr. kieth is an amazeing craftsman, both with bows and violins. i cant play anything, but i have seen the work that he puts into his insturments. not something to sneeze at.

That's a great bow! Good work. God Bless
-
That's a fine looking bow, just like your musical instruments in the background! :)

Instruments? Oh, yeah......there's a few. Look closer and see the tillering stick on the chair......and the two bows standing against the wall back in the kitchenette......
Archery is invading my quiet little violin shop!! Wood, shaped and bent and polished.....strings under great tension......lots of parallels there I guess.

Here's what my backyard looked like for a while today, that's Recurve Shooter closest and Ian_Johnson furthest away. Recurve Shooter, really Trey.......nicknamed "Tiny", shooting a new hickory board bow, 68" overall, flipped tips, 1 3/4 wide at the fades and pulling over 60# someplace. Not finished yet. I want to enter it for Sept. BOM.
Ian is shooting the O/O/H 60" overall, 50# at 27".

Here's what happened to my arrow supply letting these guys shoot: (yup, there's one of yours in there, Dana)

Overall , great guys. If all the young men in the USA were like these two, us old guys would sleep better.
