Title: Snakebite!
Post by: Bear on October 06, 2009, 03:41:37 pm
Made my frist primitive kill with "Voodoo Child" last weekend. I had to shoot sitting down and the deer was five paces from my tree, very steep. The result was a spine shot. The nicely placed arrow in the pic was the coup de grace. Almost all materials used were gifted, traded, or clipped from dead turkeys.  ;D

Thank you Twin Oaks and PA friends for all your help learning to build bows. This is an incredibly rewarding experience!! Gald I can share it with you for all you have shared with me.

Congratulations-that's a fine lookin' deer, should be a lot of good eatin' and a lot of good memories. I think that calls for another "slight return":

Well I'm standin' up in an oak tree, shootin' down from the edge of my stand
Well I'm standin' up in an oak tree, shootin' down from the edge of my stand
Gonna fry me up a little backstrap
Gonna grease up the biscuit pan

'Cause I'm a voodoo chile, voodoo child
Lord knows I'm a voodoo child

Didn't mean to take out all your sweet spine, but this osage stick don't play
Didn't mean to take out all your sweet spine, but this osage stick don't play
If I don't see you no more in this world
I'll see you tonight right on my plate, on my plate

'Cause I'm a voodoo chile, voodoo child
Lord knows I'm a voodoo child

 :)

It was a Woodsman. My last bow kill was with a two-blade. No comparison. 'Course I didn't get lung on that last one.

Youngbowyer,
I'd say thats normal with a three-blade and lung hit. Very similar to a rifle hit in the same place. The lungs spray it out.

Hillbilly,
;D ;D ;D Awsome!!! We'll have to meet up some time. I'm just over the mountain in Townsend.
