Unfortunately, didn't leave enough room on the tips for a stringer. Crap.
Any ideas?
Need to get her low-braced to finish tillering.
-
Put another set of nocks just below the first. Use the outside nocks with a long string as a stringer.
-
you could always use the push pull method
i do that on all my bows, even my long bows
granted they are not as long as yours, but they do hit the 72" ttt
-
Send it to me I have long arms ;D. Like sailordad said Push Pull, or like Pat said cut some new knocks. That is all I can think of.

Good lord, Hillbilly, I'm trying to maximize length for no good reason here. ;D
Pat B., lower nocks are out. See above. ;)
Sailordad, push-pull is out. Cain't stretch that far. :-\
Unless...I stand on my bench and brace the tip against the leg.
Hey, that might work. :o
Thanks, fellas.

If you have a work bench you can add 3 pegs to the bench top. One at the handle and one for each tip. Put the tip under it's peg and the handle on it's other and bend the other tip until it reaches the 3rd and put that peg in. This will hold the bow at just past brace height so you can put the string on then remove one tip peg and remove the braced bow.
Show a pic of your tips.

pat thats a cool idea
but i think if i tried that,i would probably hurt myself in the process
i can be a bit accident prone ;D
-
Here's how I do it. I put the lower tip on something padded usually a flipflop, my knee goes on the grip, and with my right hand near the upper tip, I flex the bow by pushing down on the grip with my knee and while keeping watch to make sure it flexes evenly I proceed to slip the string loop onto the upper tip with my left hand.

LOL at Hillbilly for stating the obvious. Push/puill a long heavy bow will test yer manliness. Might consider the "step thru" method, although I don't favor it. Can be a real peach to extricate yerself from the inside of the bow once braced.

Two cases of bottled water on the floor. Put the tips on the cases with about 6in extra. With the back towards the ground, press on the handle. The water bottles make great padding for the tips, and if you do it right the tip will lift off the case as you approach brace, letting you slide the string on. Weird, but it works.
