This is the first sinew backed bow I have done and I gotta say, wow! It's a snappy shooter and very fun little bow.
As for details, it's 48" ntn. Around 48# or so at 26" with a bit of bend through the handle. Maple was recurved, pretillered and heat treated prior to sinewing. 2 layers of sinew where layed down with knox. The handle is leather strips that were laminated and glued on after sinewing to the back and belly, and then shaped. No reflex was heat treated in, but the sinew did induce a small amount, probably a bit over 1". After shooting in, it was back to straight. Nocks are basically pin nocks. Thanks for looking!

Very nicely done! jawge
-
Very nicely done, sir!! What did you use to dye the back the black color?
-
Thanks everyone.
Mox, the recurves where steamed in, and I had to tweak them later with dry heat. The sinew did induce a small amount of reflex, most of which is gone. You can still see a tiny bit on the outer half of the limbs.
adb, it's actually painted with acrylic. Burnt Umber (a dark brown) was the color name, and red paint for the sinew wraps.

I love it ! Looks like a nice one for a ground blind ambush !!

Great looking bow my friend. I just started working on a 68" maple flat boardbow but I'm seriously considering cutting 10 inches off each end and sinewing it...
Great inspiration
