Here is a vine maple stick that I have had sitting around for years. And Yes I have many many years to catch up to guru Gordan. :o I wanted it to have a more primitive look to it so this is what I did. The handle is corded dogbane and I have to thank Madcrow, Eddie, for the dogbane. The stain is walnut stain. The specs are 1 5/8 in the fade outs, bend through the handle, 5/8 at the tips. It is 44 lbs at 25 inches. The string is made by my lovely wife. Hope you enjoy, John.

Very nice bow John. That walnut stain came out great. Congratulations.
-
Nice bow. Does Madcow twist up that Dogbane himself?
-
That is a fine looking bow. Job well done. I can appreciate the effort of that handle. I made one like that on my last bow. It took me longer to do the wrap than the whole bow. Again, very nice bow.

THANKS ALOT GUYS...one of my troubles with vm is the nodes...and this was one of my questions for keenan also...it had some thick ones and i didn't want to rasp in one spot and hinge it...so,it was take a little wood here and leave a little there...tillering can be a love-hate game..john

Looks good! The stain reminds me alot of what my mountain maple bows look like, the two must be very similar. Never tried vm though.
